Tisco in 153.00 can we calculate the Dividend yield,it is going to be better than Bank FD s in coming weeks.

thing i don't like about dividend yield is that the formula compares dividend already declared in past with cmp...
but, if fundamentals of the economy is changing / has changed, then maintenance of that certain level of profit also comes in doubt...
hence, dividend is directly affected....

so, dividend yield does not represent the future picture correctly...

Agreed,i am not refering to future Price.Suppose any one believes that within few yrs this Melt down can be arrested & reversed then these dividend paying companies may start paying dividends at that situation then the per annum dividends may become a good source of income .
Even this perception is not working now.
