Many times these blasts took place mkts have shored up than down giving those bloody terrorists clue that we will not accept defeat frm you.

Last time train blasts took place , i rem that mkts opened weak but went up and closed at hod. Hope my memory is correct. No overnight cues frm DOW its closed today , so asian mkts will be in their own tune 2moro. Heavy profit taking came in later part of day for asian indices today.

I cannot generalise as of now, but 2 schools from my area have already sent SMS (thru sms chain) that school is closed tomorrow (Friday) also.

There's still hostage situation in Bombay....
and this time, it's NOT just the common man on street who has been affected by these attacks. It's the MAIN BUSINESS AREA of Bombay, and I would say this incident is nearly equivalent to WTC of New York (9/11) attack in terms of intention of attack... Also the BSE building & other big financial houses HQs are very nearby to the area where terrorist activities are taking place.

If all hostages are not set free and the terrorists shot down till tomorrow morning, then curfew in that area still goes on...
which also means, no NSE/BSE Trading tomorrow too...
correct picture only after 12 hours...

Sunil, you have specified your location as NSE.... so you know better.... and if there is no trading on Friday 28th Nov also, does it mean that the Settlement for Nov 2008 goes to Dec 2008?

Guiness Book Entry?

Technically & electronically, trading was possible even today....
but seeing what & HOW the attacks have been carried out (gun-trooting terrorists moving as if this is some Chambal ke daaku's area) & the expected curfew & terror among people, trading was called off today AND MAYBE TOMORROW....

NSE building is very far from BSE building (abt 20kms & 70-90 minutes car drive)

The intention was just to spoil India's image and create a scare among foreigners & tourists...
The two hotels targeted are mostly attended by visiting foreigners, business people, etc....
I read that Hindustan Unilever's head honchos were/are also present in Taj hotel, and some other Indian Cos CEOs too...
