gurus what is the level/signal to identify that a breakdown or up has ended and a uptend has now started?

booked partial @ 4719...last week we had bad inflation numbers yet market went up for technical reasons...

sl down 3728... holding only 1/3.. holding on to winners for long is somthing i still have to learn.... maybe comes with experience or is something wrong with me???
