Re: Time to Stick my Neck Out ,Nifty 7300

very excellent day albeit with its madness. 132 pts + could have been more had I not made stupd mistakes. But another happy support 2 support game day. Holding few shorts for tommorow all in profit.

Re: Time to Stick my Neck Out ,Nifty 7300

frankly, i had not shorted initially, as I did think 4250 will hold out... and then I had missed the bus and just saw it go down below 4200 SPOT
(thankfully, i had an old put option going on)

Luckily, i got to short again when there was a bounce....

phew, what a day....

DEB, ASISH... I AGREE - NEVER TO HAVE A TRADING BIAS AND LET THE CHARTS TALK...
(a relief rally of the fall from 4680 to 4225 had happened yesterday when it bounced 100 pts from low of day... aur kitna chahiye!!!)

The Move what we are witnessing now a days plz be remembered.
The Mkt can not stay in perpetual down mode, some day it will reverse.
Smart Money is what we will have to follow, forget everything else.

Asish, Deb,
one thing I wanted to ask you two....

when i joined this forum, i noticed that mostly scalping trades were being done... +10 or +15 pts (gross profit) were considered to be ok.... even one member, GAUTAM (gkpc) showed a way of doing such trading... i tried to do such trades, but i noticed that on an average, 2 small positive trades' profit is eaten up by one trade going totally wrong against you. One ends up with nearly zero gross profit with brokerage, etc resulting in net loss... Also, less gross profits require more trades, which then actually result in more costs...

That's why i am trying to incorporate Pivot trading (SPOT) with your style of trading... I initiate a trade at a particular support/resistance level. After a trade is initiated, i book part profits (enough to cover costs) and then let it ride till the relevant support/resistance level comes

On days like today, where there are big moves, both types of trading (scalping & postional) would have same result... But there are rangebound days too... How do you manage costs then? Do you have access to any special brokerage scheme, etc???

Please, i would like to know your views/comments on this ....
please guide me.

But ashishda wont the brok. on Futures be % based like .03 or something. For instance I pay .03 one side + taxes. So .06 + taxes for the entire transaction. If you are paying fixed sum that to something like 85 both side net then u r lucky.
