Vicky,

Why Every Point On The Chart, For That Matter Every Trade Where Both The BUYER & SELLER Both Think They Are Smart.

Pivot In Relation To Where The Current Price Is Or Where It Was, Shall Always Be Important......Perhaps Could Be A Decisive Trend In The Direction Of The Move.

I Have Always Maintained, It Is Only Price, Price & Price Action.

Pivot Is Nothing But Resistance Or Support In Relation To A Previous Closing.

Doc

Some where I read, each point on a chart represents a fight between bulls and bears. If your candle, closes red, the bears win and if it is green the bulls win.

Here, opening of price at pivot doesn't necessarily mean anything, that is my view.

But, just to add to proper perspective to the charts and for better use, you might consider looking at the price action near the Supports and Resistances.

PS: Hope you can see, what I see.

Scorpio,

Focus Is Not The Pivot Point, It Is The Actual NF Price....& Which Points (R & S) Closest To It Assumes Importance....& Where Your SMA Crossovers & BBs Are With Respect To NF.

Thanks Doc for the chart.

In this case the entire day's game was played out between the Resistance points and there was no significance to the pivot point (4221.4) mentioned.

Am I correct? If so, under what circumstances does one use the pivot point data?

Thanks!

Got the point on the importance Savant, Thanks!

To summarise,
SMA crossover is first priority and trigger,

This is followed by the validation of the trigger through Bollinger bands piercing. ( may happen the other way around but SMA has more weightage)

Use the R & S values for the day as references to track trade flows for targets / stoploss.

Hope I am right on the above.

The doubt still remains on why do you publish the pivot point info. I mean -what do I do with the info of " pivot point for 1st June is 4395".

Sorry for being persistent but I feel better a doubt clarified than not understand a system properly.

Aptly put.

But, my view was in the relation to the question Doc put up which I have highlighted.

If we consider S&R , each crack of S or R can give us a directional move, I think there is no special treatment of any kind to PP. Or am I wrong ?

Nifty Fut Opened Near Pivot Point And Good UpMove Thereafter Cracking Pivot Level.

Can We Consider Opening Of Nifty Nearby Pivot Point Will Give Us Possible One Way Movement In Either Direction?
;)

Thanks.:)

Am clear now, Thanks.

Will try and read the entire posts again tonight to find out what action to take when close and what to do when it touches, I always thought the piercing was important!!! (Pls rest assured I am talking only about Bollinger bands here :D:D)

Will continue to bug you!!

The proffesional NF traders may not need you but the new ones always will!!!!

Thanks!
