Indian CPI and Indian Industrial Production (IIP) data is Expected today.

The Market can React tomorrow morning to the Data.

As per the Investing.com site http://www.investing.com/economic-calendar/

Expected CPI is 10%
Expected IIP is -1.2%

So watch for those two data. Market can react Plus/Minus 60 points.

Do any of you have any insider information :thumb:

Somehow led to believe the current rally was a bull trap. It was a foregone conclusion that BJP would win in the four states before the results.Looks like they waited for a distribution to happen, and today at around 2:52PM there was a huge volume sell on index futures... so looks like the IIP data did get leaked out

Modified my Straddle for a Possitive Bias ( Bullish ) by selling 100 more 6300 Put @ 95

You wrote that you sold 100 more 6300 Put @ 95. May I ask you about your margins you face for that decision?

After what I know, it would be at least 2.5 Mil INR for a maximum profit of 9500 INR. Kindly tell me where I made my mistake with the numbers.

Raj, There are two ways of looking at the data..One view is Industrial Production has decreased and Inflation has increased eventhough the RBI had raised interest rate, So the effect of rate increase didnt improve inflation and IIP has also gone worse...So RBI might keep rate constant...Any rate hike would be catestrophic on market...And also if todays US is closing is in red then tomorrow pakka gap down....

*These are my personal observation

Morning All,

Nifty Spot breakout levels for today.
Upper Breakout - 6289.30, TGT1 - 6309.70, TGT2 - 6330, SL - 6239
Lower Breakout - 6252.10, TGT1 - 6231.80, TGT2 - 6208.40, SL - 6302

For yesterday's lower breakout, Nifty spot almost achieved its full target at 6248 in the first hour of trade. I guess, Today's lower breakout level could have been the reason it did not break 6250 in the first hour.

Still learning.....

Happy Trading!
Target 1 met...But no trade for me as the breakout was done after 2pm....All hail babaji

I would tend to disagree, RBI stated goal is to bring down inflation, so likely scenario is a 25 bps increase in interest rates

Sir Healthraj

You run a wonderful thread here. You share some knowledge about option trading in a very open way and that needs to be valued as: Great. Thanks to you and all the participants in this thread to bring it to what it is today.

Can I ask you one Joe Average question which came up when reading some other posts here?

Selling just one naked option means having a margin of 25'000 INR. If some body now sells 500 naked options, then he has a margin of 12.5 million INR. In this case the max. profit that trader can make would be around 41'000 INR. Considering the risk and the money which is blocked and needed for such kind of ideas, would you consider that as a realistic idea or just some kind of fantasy trades?
