can someone please explain the volume spiker afl? what do all all those shadows represent? Green is break out and the greyish shadow is what? what are those small diamond shaped dots?

Vol spiker tries to segregate the volume into buy and sell part, i.e., the volume associated with the uptrend and downtrend. depending upon this the spiker shadow are constructed, bullish/uptrend for green and bearish/red for bearish. the small diamond shapes are for the buy and sell signal though they are not so great in catching the trend. another ma is used to get the picture of volume in that scrip. very much effective in eod trading.

the greatest utility of vol spiker is to catch the zone of accumulation or distribution and is very effective in the low illiquid scrips where the smart money are operating. using vol spiker one can get an idea how the smart money is operating in that scrip.

alternately one can use flower indi for this also

yes if u go to higher time frame te whipsaws get reduced.
