My assessment to your software till now.
Working fine in market hour. Problem I found that volume is not preparing.But when back-filling is done volume is showing. But major problem I facing in back-filling real time. If internet connection is lost say one hour or back-filling after market hour, that portions data showing very way-ward.I am attaching the screen shot. . This type of problem I have not faced in earlier version.Please look in to this matter.

Dear Vepul,

To be simple, if you computer can be able to login to yahoo and access wwww then ChartsData works well else won't work. Whether you are connecting thru citrix, vpn or vsat it doesn't matter.

my odin work on VPN base so when i m connected with VPN this s/w not work it so pls give my feed back for the same

Dear Techdump,

I have now been using your program for the past three days, and must again say that you have indeed done a fantastic job. The program is very well designed, is pretty stable & does the job of data translation extremely well.

Following are some points that I thought of bringing to your notice, which may help you to further improve on your program.

a. Program Window is fixed - ideally needs to have the title bar & be movable around the screen.
Just to differentiate from other windows, i make it fixed.
b. Ability to minimize the program to system tray.
Thought it might confuse webdata with chartsdata, designed to minimize it to windows tray.
c. Right Click on system tray icon shows up an Exit button.. this button continues to remains
visible until the exit option not selected.
Will check out this and rectify.
d. If one is using any copy/cut/paste functions, it results in the program generating an error
"Column Profile ..." on two occasions this caused the program to stop feeding the data to Amibroker.
Also the paste function results in the market data being pasted. (I read somewhere on your
thread about the limitation of using the clipboard. But in addition to following the market I often
use the machine for other tasks, in this situation, this limitation becomes an real issue, as I need
to use the cut/copy/paste very often. )
I am stealing windows clipboard functionality for chartsdata and if any interruptions occurs then it will throw you the message and stops updating charts. I agree this might be the limitation but without this you can't see realtime chart updations.
e. You can also consider issuing an alert/popup/audio alert message if & when rt data feeds
get interrupted.
Hmmm, nice option, let me check it out how it is possible.
f. Since F&O data backfill is not possible, can you consider providing an option to merge
intraday data (single/multiple scrips)from a designated PIB data directory. In case of any
interruption during mkt hrs, doing this manually tends to be cumbersome.
Yes, in the verge of including PIB along with ODIN and YAH00 but it will take some time.

Once again appreciate your efforts in bringing out this wonderful solution & sharing it with everybody.

Dear Bhulokeshwar,

If your internet connection is very slow then chartsdata will show you this message, try it with little bit more kbps speed and check it out. currently chartsdata is programmed to work only with diet odin versions and will not work with diet client and vsat.

I am using chartdata to connect odin diet to amibroker.when odin is busy with internet to take data ,at the time ,if i open chartdata, it is giving message - OFF LINE:YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.
And observed during market hours some time,if my internet is busy with other applications/downloads , chart data is hanging.
pl remove link to connect internet for odin users and solve the problem

Dear Manaranjan,

This problem is due to 1 hour Day Light savings in US as YAH00 server's default date setting is in US time. I will clear it out soon to work with all time differences.

hey Mr. TechDump,,Whats up???


1) your software doesn't update my metastock 10 minute data folder or i must admit that it doesnt show any scrip name when i open minute data folder, whereas it shows other files of masters.
2) i use diet odin,,, i made the necessary changes in my column to get the scrips of my portfolio in ur software,,,but it doesnt show any scrip from my portfolio whereas it shows the name i have given to my portfolio.
3) i am using metastock since last 5 years and i wish to have this utility to be very userfriendly with odin and metastock simultaneously. i think you should check my setting thru teamviewer.
4) dear friend, your utility is great but as some of my friends has recommended you have got to really deal with some very serious issues....do u know bse and nse data has 10 minute time difference and also rate differences... bse shows old rates with 10 minutes delay even after being logged into yahoo..

please help me solve this problems....

i would at last also wish to ask if this software will work after 1st of april 2009,
