Option Buy Recomendations

hi..
can somebody tell me how much money i need to buy 1 nifty future and write one option... the margin required for writng the option is appr.30000 and for future it is about 50000.....do i need to pay 80000 or less???? as writing the option shud credit some amount into my account... so please throw light and give a rough idea of the investment required..

Should I hold or squre off .Should I hedge with another option. pls recommend

Dear Krish,

What have you written a Nifty call or put @5400 option ? I do not reco. writting options as its risky. If at all you are wrtting an option keep a strict SL or hedge the same.

Sorry, I was travelling so could not see your posts. Hope you might have booked profit in put and today might have got profit in call as well. Would recomend exit from options and wait for a good volume day in market before you take a fresh call.

CMP 5700 Nifty Call @ 28.15
CMP 5800 Nifty Call @ 17.10

Suppose on settlement date, settlement price of Nifty is 5100. What would be the implication if i neither square off, nor i excerise the option.

Hi Ravalsb,

If Nifty remains around 5100 then you will loose money. This month 5700/5800 seems remote. Will reco. you to squareoff.
