thanks for running very informative & unique thread. I have one suggestion. If you can consolidate your all entire strategies & put it on 1st post of this thread than it will be very helpful for new members like me to understand without searching entire thread.

Dear Ghosh

I am interested in shorting DLF and ICICI bank in the futures and options market at their current share prices and cover DLF at Rs 410/- and ICICI Bank at Rs 600/-. Please advise me the procedure to do so since I am totally new to futures and options market.

I would advie you to first paper trade your trades before doing actual trade. Its very risky to trade in futues & options unless you are sure of it.

Please give me an example of a profitable trade(buying a put option) so that I can do a paper trade. Currently I only day trade. The problem is that the market opens with a downward gap thus leaving me with little chance of making more profits.

thanks mr ghosh according to me one can consider buying clls and puts as well as writing the same as it reduce your cost as well as hedge your position too and you can make profit with low risk.

I have stated some strategies for profitable trades in this thread and have consolidated them in my 1st post. Go through the 1st post. Paper trade it atleast for three months and if you find it profitable for three months in a row then, you can start taking real trades based on the strategies stated in that post.

The best solution would be to trade during MARKET HOURS only without sticking to overnight positions.Of course ,it is easier to tell but difficult to follow.But you can give a try.
