Dear ghosh sir,

Not understand the bold part of your answer. Can we write options on these no trade days?how we enter the trade?
Dear Vijay,

No trend means Nifty will not move eitherway it means AT money or OTM option will correct because of lack of direction in the underlying. So, writing AT money or OTM option could be a winning trade. E.g. writing 4600 call, 4700 call or writing 4600 put could be profitable. Offcourse one has to maintain a SL or hedge ones trade.
To find these trades watch the volume, open int. of AT money or OTM call / put. And when charts (lack of direction i.e. previous interval +/- 20 up or dwn as per trend check strategy doesn't hold good) and data (vol. and open int.) give confirmation then, goahead and write the option that qualifies these data.

Regards

Hi Mr. Ghosh,

First of all, lemme congratulate you for commencing such an informative thread.

Myself, I'm newbie on the block & just acquired some awareness 'bout Options, but I got 1 query i.e., "as expiration of August contracts are nearing can I still trade in Nifty options??? or else do I need to trade in September Contracts??"

Best Regards,

Madhav

Dear magnanimous,

Will never prefer option write for newbies. However, one can write calls at R1+200 and puts at S1-200 (Reco. Ratio 2calls : 1 put).
