Nifty Futures Profit for 3rd September 2009.

At 10:25 - 10:30 am, the price of Nifty Futures was around 4600 - 4610.

This is between Pivot(4615.2) and S1(4570.4).

So we buy above Pivot and sell below S1.

Buy triggered at 4615 at 10:40 am.

0.5% Target = 4638.075 (achieved)
1% Target = 4661.15 (not achieved).

Futures made a high of 4649.90 and went below.

So our trailing stoploss at 0.5% gets hit.

So profit = 0.5% = 22 points.

No other call triggered today

Profit of 1000+ with one lot of Nifty.

Hi Radha,

I also did the exact trade yesterday. Today was a much better day as a buy triggered above R1 of 4633.2 and it went above 4700 but I booked at 4679.5 which is 1% from buy level.

I will try to track NF values between 10.25 and 10.30 and then what action should be taken according to your formula in case you permit me to do so on your thread.

Cheers

hi ,
can u post ur real time trades during market hours and can u post the pivot points before market hours ,because the values you are giving in profit loss differs a much .
regards
bala
Please see my Pivot points excel I used to do my trades using this formula. You just need to fill range of NF between 10.25 and 10.30 and then based on rules you can decide your trades with buy and sell levels.

Cheers

Hi,

I would request not to post here during day time about ur trade.

Many a times, things get leaked out from here and if some big players use this, they may get our stoploss hit.

so please dont post any live trade on this thread.

Both are good. It depends which suits you best and with whom who can play more.

Nifty Futures profit for 4th September 2009.

At 10:25 - 10:30 am,

The price of Nifty Futures was around 4600 - 4609.

This is very near to Pivot.

So we buy above R1 and sell below S1

Buy above R1(4633.2) triggered at 12:40 pm.

0.5% Target = 4656.165(achieved)
1% Target = 4679.33 (achieved)
1.5% Target = 4702.495(achieved)

The high for Futures was 4712.

and it reversed from there, so our trailing stoploss at 4702 gets hit.

Our profit = 1.5% = 69 points.

Profit of 3000+ with one lot of Nifty.

To Calculate Values please download the zip file from the first post.

In practical terms how do we execute this strategy? What do we do when it goes up .5%. We hold it for 1%. As it moves up beyond .5% we shift stops to .5%. The strategy on paper does not say whether it came down to .5% before moving up again towards 1%. The same happens between 1% and 1.5%. When exactly do we shift stops when it moves beyond .5%. How much beyond .5% do we wait before moving stops?. The most critical question would be the .5% stage. What happens if it hits .5% and then comes down? On paper we would have booked a profit of .5% but in reality we would be waiting for it to go beyond .5% to shift our stops.
Ideally, if we trade two lots or more, book 50% profits at .5% and hold the balance with trailing stops. Instead of one lot of Nifty, two lots of mini offer you more flexibility. That way you can book one lot at the minimum profit of .5% and hold the balance at entry price and trail if Nifty moves in your direction.
