Those are three year returns, not one year return. Please read a little carefully.
I have not followed some 'rubbish' ranking system, they are ranked by their three year returns.
If your clients are satisfied that is good for you and your clients :) I would like my funds to perform a little better.

I do not know if nationalised banks are cheaper, as it is impossible for me to understand from your unpunctuated post what you actually mean. Anyway, I use the investment portal of a private bank. My MF investments are free of cost, though brokerage is not the cheapest in the market. Brokerage is not a major consideration for me.
For future posts you may consider using a few punctuations. It would be really helpful.

SBI Magnum Taxgain WAS a good performer. It's history. Let's look at the returns of magnum tax gain over the year along with rank among tax saving category for that year.

Year - Returns - Rank

2005 - 96.06% - 1/20
2006 - 44.96% - 1/23
2007 - 55.27 - 16/26
2008 - -54.86 - 14/29
2009 - 86.42% - 13/32

It clearly shows one thing, magnum tax gain was a good fund in days of 2005-2006 and later on started performing poorly. Now in 2005-2006, Sandeep Sabarwal was the fund manager and he was one of the most aggressive and one of the best fund managers that time. After he left the SBI MF, performance of mannum Tax gain & Magnum Contra has nothing to cheer about in last 3-4 years.

seetharamank,

An advice to you. Stop recommending magnum tax gain based on it's past performance. It's only past and no performance these days. Would suggest you to study & compare tax savers on parameters like return, beta, sharp ration and alpha for recommendations. Also refer to star ratings by Value Research, Morning Star and other agencies. Cheers :)
