Hi TD,

Good work, keep posting.

I was just wondering - you don't use candlestick charts at all?

Would like to see more charts from you..

I don't use candlestick charts , because i look for single bar/ohlc patterns. This is the western charting method. Candlesticks can also be used, but there are many candlestick patterns and they make things complicated.

Having said that, you can find the same bar patterns using candlestick also. But i find bar charts to be more clean and simple when analyzing charts.

Hope that answers the questions.

Hi Traderdude,

In one of earlier posts I read that you are in job and do trading whenever you get time, you are so good in technical so why don't you adopt trading as full time profession, I am just asking because I am planning for the same but as I am not as good as you to analyze the market, it is shaking my confidence.
Pls share your experience.

You can be good at technicals , but are you good at managing your emotions, your psychology.

It requires time and experience to manage your emotions. I still fail at it sometimes to be honest.

So don't quit your day job yet. Practice trading with a small account for at least 5 years and keep growing the account.

Trading requires a lot of patience and discipline. These two are key. Unfortunately 99% of humans do not have patience and very few are disciplined. This is the main reason why 95% fail at trading.

You could use a simple ema crossover strategy with good MM , patience and discipline, you can still be a success.

The hard part comes after learning the technicals.
