one more point. for exit we dont wait for the current 5 min bar to close, we jst need stoch c/o, but sometimes i have obseved the lines come together during 5 min but by end of 5 min bar the they move away which means c/o didnt occur. so should we wait for 5 min to close to exit also? or we exit and enter again on 5 min bar close if stoch c/o dint occur properly

Dont reenter for sure...best is to trail ur positions..i generally close them if posn starts giving off the profits....touching and rebouncing is a subjective issue and no hard answer for dis...oderwise u can anyways book half wen in doubt and trail da rest.

this is a learning question
in 30min TF we look at bars after every 30 mins interval and for 5mins every 5mins we need to see the 30mins tf at 30mins interval at 10 1030 11 1130 and so on am i rght and similarly we see 5mins TF AT 5mins interval 10 1005 1010 and so on rght?
one more question when u say tht 10.30 bar how can u see the time in trade tiger i mean exact time ?

pn:those using Trde tiger i have mailed to sharekhan and told the problems we re facing ,their engineer will call me to see , my problem is even worse in 30min and 5min TF i dont see ema properly

Here are the trades for the day:

Only accrdn to system.Plz note i covered lots at some partial profits and breakeven.

1)Long 4202 at 10 AM....Cover was 4196 = -6 points
2) Long 4185 at 1040 AM...Cover was 4206 = +21 points
3)Long 4193 at 1230 PM...Cover 4186=-7 points.

The levels cud be a little different.

Can you send the Nifty Fut database to me.
There seems to be some difference in the data that I have and the one that you have.

I use icharts for intraday data...I dont really have a database...coz they dont have one...u can download data from investbulls.com though

5periods ema and 13 periods ema will show after 13 bars only. So if u want to see the ema for 30 mts chart, u have to select 3days chart in trade tiger. For 5 mts chart it will show after 11am. If u want to see from beginning select 3days chart for 5mts tf also.

Sashsaha,

Your stoch settings are totally wrong:

Set the parameters as:

Also, apply them on Nifty FUTURE, as we TRADE that scrip.

The final chart:

You should also save the stoch & ema settings so that you don't have to enter the parameters everytime you log in.
You can do this by selecting "SAVE GRAPH TEMPLATE" from (mouse's right-click) context menu.
You can individually save settings for 5min & 30min TF.

Its so confusing !!! as per pride I have set the Stochastic as ( Periods - 8, %K avg - 3, %D avg - 4 for %D) and (Periods - 8, %K avg - 3 for %K) in Amibroker. Are these settings right ??? or else i will be searching in darkness for this HOLY FORMULA.

The main stochastic line is known as %K, and is calculated over a specified number of days/bars, in this case, it is 8.

A short term moving average is applied to %K and this timing line is known as %D, which is 3 for this system.

A third variable is used to “slow” or smooth the %K line by displaying it as a moving average, which for us is 4.


I hope this clears all the doubts regarding the stochastic settings

by the way, stochastic settings do not make much difference...if you are not able to modify them, just use the default settings because my settings have just a minor deviation from the default.
