ATR14 = average true range of 14 bars.


ATR21 = average true range of 21 bars.

=> what I have asked you is to verify the trailing 14 day true range of the stocks you have selected using monthly averages.

yes ... perfectly!!

No no ... wait wait wait ...

See this,

The True Range indicator is the greatest of the following:
-current high less the current low.
-the absolute value of the current high less the previous close.
-the absolute value of the current low less the previous close.
First sentence is matching with your statement ... Others are confusing???

Wow well here is the clear picture with clear sound ...



If true range takes in to consideration previous close, then how is it useful for intraday trading ??:confused:

and also, when I say

what you have done is to calculate the ATR's on monthly basis.

like ATR for the month of Jan etc.,
