Power on now ...

There has been an accidental discovery of an funny indicator in Priyanvada's Lab... I am not sure it works or not ... Someone needs to test it on Amibroker for accuracy on various stocks ...

The statement I make is ...

If The Net Chnage in close price of a security if below 1%, then it is very likely that price WILL move in comming 7 days ...

This can be the formula...

Net Change = Abs(Todays Close - Back 7th day from now's Close)x100/Todays Close

If this proves ... this can be a good indicator for playing some option strategy which is based upon bet on Good price move in any direction for comming 7 days!

Also the "7days" time period also need to be checked from say 2days to 10 days in above case ...

I am giving an example below,

Please note that

1.the graph is logarithmic so price change is not VISIBLE,
2. Two other graphs pink and above top are useless to observe

I hope i am not reinventing the wheel ...

A. Security Selection,

This is Real Problem for an Intraday Trader Who Trades in equities ...

How to decide upon a list of stocks to trade Intraday on next day ???

I have following ideas to solve this ...

1. Take 1 minute liquid stocks and make a Simple Intraday Range study for at least last month and pick 10-15 best of them who show average range more than average intraday range of all group...And just stick to them ...

2. Something happens on fundamental levels with a scrip which was showing narrow range and /or less liquidity in near 1-6 month history and suddenly after some Big Fundamental Change it is showing big intraday range from last seven days at least...

3. Select On Breaking News ... But I am weak at this ... dunno how to filter potential breaking news which DO affect price from Non-potential news... ..

4. EOD chart study : - Stock showing some breakout, overbought, oversold, and so on...

Dear reader...If you have anything else than this ... please suggest ...and I will update here ...

I have chosen option 1 in above case ...



B. Common Sense,


... what can I tell you about this ... you are always much much more sensible than mine!

Anyway, In short I will say,

Books, Teachings are ok in the beginning but when we become expert we should be confidant to take decisions which might be sometimes against books or our teachings ... just through our common sense & awareness about the whole situation ...

Day By Day I feel I am doing a lot of TRASH TALKING here ...

I am feeling I should stop now! ... and after I achieve something tell able or some success then only should I return to this thread and tell the whole story ... If i reach my first milestone of 2 Lakhs i will comeback otherwise everyone should understand as "Priyanvada is Lost!"

Hi,
I don't think Priyanvada would quit (or atleast talking of quitting) for a couple of % losses or about trash talking.
There must be someother valid/invalid reasons.

Anyway, Happy and Prosperous Diwali to all friends and traders.
