Problem using sharkhan

I have not seen anybody complaining about this so I believe I am doing something wrong. Please help me identifying the issue.

I am not able to use either fast trade(Web based platform provided by sharekhan) or trade tiger(software based platform provided by sharekhan). I have just got my account opened but coud not use it.

I am behind a proxy server, although trade tiger has a proxy configuration option but from all I could find I believe some certain ports must still be forwarded by the router for trade tiger to work which are not being forwarded in my case so I think it is use less for me.

As far as fast trade goes as soon as I try to log in to it I get an error "To help protect you computer windows has closed this program" I tried searching net and found I have to do some DEP related setting which are not working for me.

If any body has anything from sharekhan working please help me.

hi,

the feed connection which is downloading marked data, is treated as suspicious activity by windows. so i think it must be showing you that error.

Please take following steps.
1. Add Exe which you are executing in Windows Firewall exception from control panel.
2. Add Exe which you are executing in Antivirus Exception.
3. If you are using Sun java for running Sharekhan exe, then add java.exe,javaw.exe and javaws.exe in Windows Firewall exception and Antivirus firewall exception.
3. If your antivirus requires web url exceptions also then check the urls from sharekhan for trade and feed server and add them in your antivirus web exception. you can do netstat -a when you are sucessfully logged in to know the urls of sharekhan which have to be added in exception.. but better ask sharekhan.

Please update over hear if the solution works with you. I am a technical person and have now used sharekhan exe so dont know if the above java exception is required for you.

Also, i dont see proxy server as a problem for your problem as the error you are getting has nothing to do with proxy server.

But its strange to see that sharekhan exe is working behind proxy server. I dont know how many brokers offer exe which are running behind proxy server.
Please confirm with sharekhan if exe runs behind proxy server.

Trader message thanks a lot for taking the pain and finding useful info, but it is not working for me

As i have mentioned there is a option in trade tiger to configure proxy server but it is not working for me. Sharekhan's site mentions "Note: You may have to set the "proxy", "host" and "port" only if you are behind the firewall in a LAN environment.
Ports 19345, 19346, 20345 and 20346 on the proxy server has to be opened" the ports specified are not being forwarded in my case so trade tiger is useless for me

As far as fast trade goes it uses MS JVM and I have configured settings as mentioned in MS link you have provided but it is still not working for me Please have a look at attached screenshot

Earlier I used sharekhan's Fasttrade based on JVM
with desired settings.Later on I shifted to Tradetiger.
First time I got some problems (I do not remember)
then I uninstalled every thing ,I took TTiger files from
the website providing it (not from the CD provided by
them).I hope this may help you.All the best.

Thanks all for taking the pain to answer

After a zillion web queries I have figured out I have to turn off the memeory proticion option in advanced settings.

To save others time I am attaching a screen shot for future references (i am using IE 8 on windows xp sp3 with all available updated installed)

I have figured out that I have to disable protection in Tools->Internet Options->advanced settings to make things work.

Hi,

You ahve problems using Sharekhan Terminal, then y dont you switch over to R K Global. You can net.net based software to Trade and as i believe you shall not have any problem with that. Further if your college does not allow to use such sites then they have a call and trade facility which is very helpfull.
