Dear Columbus

I have been following the OI with interest. Now after 10 days of watching this, I would request you to kindly answer my question:

Is the higher OI in any call/put, means market is geared towards that price? For the past 4 days, 6000 CE were in high numbers. So I bought calls but all turned losses. Is OI relevant in this case? Or am I reading the numbers wrong.

A good explanation of OI would be welcome since you have been collecting them day after day. I have also been recording the OI page in excel.

Would appreciate your reply and thanks for the same.

Hi kesk,

I do not give much importance to OI before EXPIRY because options tend to Low-priced
at that time, and can be manipulated.Sometimes Rs 50 will fetch you a lot and you have
to spend 25,000 Rs for same in Futures.Sometimes I do not mark YELLOW or WHITE
before EXPIRY ,for this precise reason. In fact ,I mentioned about it in my previous posts.
(Some old post: http://www.traderji.com/options/66083-put-call-options-73.html#post663050)
Rather than studying OI for 10 days ,it is better to study for a series.
