The Reserve Bank of India today hiked the repurchase rate (repo rate) by*
a quarter percentage point to 6% while the reverse repo rate was increased by 50*
bps to 5%.
The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) was left unchanged at 6% while the*
Bank rate too was kept steady at 6%.
Rupee at over 1 month high after rates rise: The partially convertible rupee was at 46.22/23 per dollar, after rising to 46.20, its strongest since August 9. It had closed at 46.35/36 on Wednesday.
Nifty hits 5900, trades near 32month high: At 13:15 hours IST the benchmark Nifty showed smart recovery and touched another milestone 5900 level after initial marginal selloff.
RIL, Infy, TCS, Bharti, BHEL slip: At 14:36 hours IST the 30share BSE Sensex erased gains, which showed in last couple of hours.
