Sharekhan's Trade Tiger 2 Feedback Thread

I am using Odin and TT2.01. i think TT is very good. very intresting is we can snap the ticking realtime data to EXCEL sheet. and with little effort we can send it to Metastock, ELwave ... I am using only two s/w maybe more TA s/w can be used.
for crash of system. yes the s/w is heavy but as i am using i5 laptop w/o cooling pad. and run the TT from morning opening to evening some times till 11 midnight for commodity. i did not face such problem.

The "Action Watch" window shows the action of various indices even if you have not ticked them. Couldn't find any related setting in the User settings. Any solution ?? The action watch is getting very cluttered. I want to see only NSE 50 in action watch.

ONE CLICK FILTER with advanced option might help you.(In TOOLS menu).

Yes Man,,

No option for Trade Tiger in Trading Platform..Just Try New Adavanced Version 2.1.00 it is MOst adavanced with Modern Platforms and Indicators.

Hello all!
The Starving Trader has been using Sharekhan's Trade Tiger 1.0.4.9 and then TT 2.0.1 for a few months now. This is the only trading software that he has used so far to trade the Indian markets but has been told that TT is pretty much the most advanced broker-provided trading platform there is in India. Keep in mind that this is not factoring in proprietary softwares such as Metastock that cost extra. However, The Starving Trader has experienced issues with the software and would like to make this an active thread for people with similar experiences, who can suggest improvements, other softwares (broker provided), or recap their experiences with other softwares that may be better than with TT.

Here are The Starving Trader's summary points for TT 2.0.1.

Pros:
- Historic Data (upto 1 month) on intra-day charts
- Good order management: The Starving Trader has not yet had a problem with order flow/routing
- Decent connectivity
- Good "Marketwatch" features (ability to create stock/comm lists)

Cons:
- Not enough historic data: At least 1 year of historic data is absolutely critical for traders, especially for non-intra day traders.
- Software still randomly crashes. Some glaring bugs still need to be fixed, especially with chart loading, and chart management (saving/editing), etc.
- BIG PROBLEM with 64-bit Windows: TT2.0.1 overloads and massively heats up the processor (within about 20 minutes of being active) temperatures on 64-bit machine causing the processor to shut down abruptly! This makes it impossible to use on an extended run.
- No streaming news feature
- Historic data, historic data, historic data!

Issue with 64-bit processor:
The Starving Trader is running a powerful laptop with Windows 7 for 64-bit architectures, intel i7 processor, and 8GB of RAM. He has run numerous applications in the past including Tradestation software in the US on thsi laptop without issues. The TT2 processor overheat occurs within 20 minutes of running it an a live market environment. Any one else with a 64-bit machine experiencing similar issues?

Any other experiences with TT, or other softwares that you would like to highlight? Know of any broker-provided platforms that are better than TT2 in your opinion? Remember, we are not talking about paid trading proprietary platforms... not yet, at least.

Please share! Hopefully Sharekhan can take note of this thread too.

And in the case of disconnections ?? It is the worst feeling to have to close it down, re-start it, put up your charts again etc.. no auto-reconnect, unless you are reconnected within 5 seconds. Mind you, a lot of these "disconnections" happen during sharp moves on the index.

If I ever give up TT in favour of IIFL's TTadvance, this would be the reason.

The main drawback of TradeTiger is it INABILITY to connect automatically.
Everytime if my internet connection goes down (Server connection reset
at Sharekhan end / any other problem at Sharekhan end) I have to restart
it, by giving User ID+Browsing Password+Transaction password.

HEY EVERYONE

i just took sharekhan platform yesterday
i have couple of questions

1.Lets say,NIFTY is trading around 4800 n i c support around 4780
now i want to place SELL order if it breaks resistance at 4772(lets say)
can i do that with limit order at 4772 ?
or if i place limit order the order will get executed at 4800

(I traded forex before with FXCM platform there u have entry order which allows u to do the above)
(i dont much about INDIAN platforms so pardon my silly question )

and

2. i cant c the world index's from sharekhan platform how to activate it?

can a senior please shed light on my doubt
