SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

Dear TWH,
reliance triggered buy on 10th then on 11 th 3ema not touched so eod covered it...it in loss....can we take these type of trades ...though today we could enter in low price:)
asking for confirming..( my trades are all papertrades...except options)
Am papertrading 6scrips...on 10th am out of bnf trades which is not performing well and entered in RIL..as per your portfolio method...now my PF had short in NF,dlf, relcap, unitech, acc & long in RIL now..:)....but these all are papertrades...if entered with fund them am a WINNER:)
RIL futures gave a buy on 10/5/2010 closing price at 1080. Today it has closed at 1075.65 so its in a small loss currently.

3 EMA exit is for booking profits and not for booking loss....If I had traded the RIL buy signal, I would have been holding it till now without any exits even if 3 EMA was not touched on 11th.

Good to know other 5 short positions have given you profits on papers.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Dear SH,

As you have said, "3EMA exit is for booking profits and not loss"; I want to know if in a scenerio as highlighted by Mr. Vijay, should we hold till 3EMA crosses over 15EMA instead of exiting at non-touching of 3EMA. But in that case, sometimes, loss may be substantial!!

Please do clarify.

Regards,

Raju

I have already answered this, I would go long as soon as crossover is clearly visible. Losses can be substantial only if the candle which created the crossover is a hige wide range bar. In that scenario you can skip the trade.
