SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

so much discussion on when to enter trades according to 315 method, and when the chance comes, no trade is entered citing reasons which are outside 315 method?
You are right Vin, but even SH said he enters on day2 not day 1. Further, this is to prevent whipsaw even if it means lower profits... Better to enter when trend gets confirmed.

What do you say SH?

Cheers.

NF longs still survive.

Please note that since last trend was good, this time i have taken only 50% positions of my normal trade size since whipsaws are expected after a good trend.

I have created some space in my PM box.

Cheers

Hi SH,

I was comparing 315 with ADX. ADX is generating signals at simillar time to 315.
Since Aug'10, 315 has given 13signals about change in direction.
ADX has given 8signals since Aug'10
Pls look into this. This may give some clue to avoid Whipsaw.
I am not expert. This is just my observation. But you being expert in this field, Should able to work out some method to avoid Whipsaw.

Right, NF is now a sell.

However I did not open a short at today's close because for last several sessions 15 EMA is absolutely flat. If the current signal is beginning of a move, then will give up the first trade and enter when it traces back to 3 EMA. This is just a personal choice.

Also BNF remains in Buy mode.

Dear SH, please share your observations.

Thanks.
The moment you try to second guess the system... you have lost the discipline that is required to follow the system. Its a leap of faith. When you initiate the trade, you dont know the outcome. You should never care about the outcome. Many times you have to take a trade that you know will hit the stoploss. Only then your system will be profitable as u have overcome the fear of pushing the button when the time comes.

Many sure shot loosers turn out to be multi baggers.
Likewise, most confirmed trades normally hits the stoploss.

Hi all, thanks for providing the monthly OHLC data....

315 gave a sell today on Nifty so exited longs and opened shorts (still 50% of position size).

Loss in last trade is 110 points.

I agree with Linkon and Vinst, the trading needs to be mechanical without worrying about what will happen next...it may hit the stop loss or give handsome profits..thats not in a trader's control.

Another 100-150 points loss in these shorts will not kill me or my confidence on the system .... what will kill me is not taking this trade and then seeing it going into 500-1000 points profit ......

Cheers
SH
