Dear SH,

A small query - If our original short position is in profit & If we are waiting for adding short on 15 EMA tocuh. Our intention is to add on "Effective 15 EMA touch". Let's say candle's high touches 15 EMA, we will wait for breach of it's low the next day. Next day again high touches 15 EMA but this candle makes a higher low. Again on next day, candle's high touches 15 EMA & again this candle makes a higher low than prev candle. Now we have three candles whose high are tocuhed by 15 EMA but the lows are making a higher low on coming days.

My query is which day's low (out of these three lows) is more significant one on breach of which we should initiate short?

there's mention of waiting for lows to be breached. as soon as high touches 15ema, add to short.

Below post(s) from SH will answer your queries (so no need to do complicated analysis :)). You must have read it but if you will read again by comparing your query, you will get answer.

Hi trade4joisar

Can you please tell me ... why we are taking entry and exits at 3.25..??
I wanted to pm you as I can see you online.. but dont know why my pm is not working
3:25 is just indicative... we need to take a entry / exit as near the clsoding time as possible. We need to ensure that the crossover that has happened remains as it is and does not revert back by close. Or in case of 3EMA value at close is higher or lower than previous close we need to see the 3EMA value as close to the closing bell as possible. 3:25 has been taken as the most appropriate time after which a move significant enough to change the crossover etc. is not expected.
One can easily calculate with the help of Excel sheets posted in the thread to know the values where the crossover happens and if we are very very close to that level at 3:25, we get extra cautious and further delay our decision by a couple of minutes or so!!!
Its needless to say that the EMA's we are trading are for the closing "value" of Nifty Futures.

Current Leg Positions

1. Initiated Shorts with 1 Lot of NF at 4885 - MA Crossover
2. Booked Profits at 4620 - (EOD candle not touching 3 EMA) Total Profit in trade = 265 * 50 = 13250
3. Entered again at 4555 with 1 Lot of NF - Price again touching 3 EMA
4. Added another lot of NF at 4725 - Price touching 15 EMA and low of 3 EMA breached previous low. Average holding price is 4640 with 2 lots now.

Current P/L = 10500

Notes : I haven't deducted the brokerage and slippage charges. :p

I have also started to trade some high beta counters based on this strategy such as ICICI, Reliance etc. I would be posting the current P/L for each of these counters soon.

Dear,

Has anyone tried this strategy on "Bank Nifty"

GN
Though I haven't traded BNF based on this strategy but you have tempted me to try out the same ;) Had we taken the trades based on 315 in the current leg till date there would have been 4 trades with net profit of Rs 31675. Current open position would be 2 lots of BNF on short side with average price of 8238.

I would try and track this as well....
