Dear sumosanammain,
Thanks for your reply.....I know you are not a saint/st/sh...etc...they are a good traders and they share some of their methods to here...without looking anything from us...Personaly I too much thankfull to them...who's posts helped me to stick in trading.......You also one of them who getting something from here (TJ)...not giving anything to here.....any way thanks for not desclose of your system here....:clapping:
You are most welcome :D
By the way, if you want, you can confirm with the system developer SH, my comments on MAE and MFE could have changed the results of the system dramatically. If thats not trying to give back to TJ, I dont care a damn.

Dear sumosanammain,
ahh thats nice ...i not aware of that.....also sorry for if my post hurt you...i just said it in kool...also I had not in command in english...so pardon me if any words hurt you.......

Dear Sumosanammain,
Meaning of MFE & MAE..??
MFE = Maximum Favourable Excursion (defines a profit level beyond which we can add more positions)
MAE = Maximum Adverse Excursion (defines an SL below which usually the winning trades dont go)

Google them to learn more about them.

I do not intend to apply MFE and MAE since they are complicated in nature.

Cheers
SH

You have the wrong definition for MFE dear. Its not used to add positions. Its used to define around what level of profit the trades usually level out toards a reversal. If the distribution is concentrated around a particular number, we can use that to our advantage.

Hey TH,

First of all a big thanks for rolling out such a simple and yet effective intraday strategy :thumb: . I was just flipping through threads and realized that I have missed out on one of the most active threads in recent past. After going through initial points w.r.t entry and exit signals I tried to simulate same on 5 min intraday charts for Nifty futures for 21st Jan'11. I am attaching the same here for your reference. So looks like there would have been 3 trades in the day with 1 trade giving full profits (Trade 2) and other 2 trades (Trade 1 and Trade 3) giving losses but loss would have very minor.

Is this the way ELH5 is supposed to be traded ?

Maximum Favorable Excursion is what was the maximum profit that the trade had before the trade closed, on line number 5 you see a trade that lost 2.5 points (P&L) but during the time the trade was open it was one time making 1 point profit, that was the Maximum Favorable Excursion for that trade.

Maximum Adverse Excursion is what was the maximum loss that the trade had before the trade closed, on line number 5 you see a trade that lost 2.5 points (P&L) but during the time the trade was open it was one time losing 5 points, that was the Maximum Adverse Excursion for that trade.
