Hello Amit!

Exited REI Agro at 204,Thanks for your guidance regarding stoploss.I am happy as i exited in time.
Finolex is looking weak, can i keep 75 as stoploss in this counter.
Regards
Roneeth
Hi Roneeth...you could have exited much higher? Any way...no losses and some profit.
On Finolex watch to see if 77 off holds for now. 75 is still ok but below 74 is a certain sell off. There's nothing in it for now and yesterday was a good chance on the pullback. Hope it stll works closer to your entry and may do so provided the market holds up.
Take care.

Amit,
What do you say about GATEWAY DISTRIPARKS.
Tata Motors : is it the right time to buy?
Thanks
Hi Lawrie...Gateway is gone now...up and away and too hgh.
Tata Motors is in real poor shape and best left alone.
It's not really a good time to enter anything.
Many opportunities will come along the way but not till we're sure which way things are heading. We must stand by and bide our time patiently.
Take care.

The rule of 4 or 5 or 7% works under most circumstances, Roneeth. While this is not quite an arbitrary rule, it can and should have variables which are:
A) The volatility of the scrip where less volatile lesser the percentage and higher the volatility higher the percentage.
B) The distance we are from entry. Further up in profit we go the better we understand the nature of the trend, and better the risk/reward factor. If the trend appears to have more left in it, we loosen the stop to allow more volatility without getting stopped out too soon. As the trend begins to tire we tighten the stop in case of a correction.

In the case of REI, it wasn't really too far out from your entry. Also it had shot up from 185 to 214 with intraday high at 219 all in three sessions. With this kind of a rush, an equally sharp retracement should be expected which did happen in three sessions. Seeing this you may have exited into the second day of the fall seeing how rapid the sell out was happening. 207-208 would have been it.
Yes it does sound simple with the benefit of hindsight, but this is what we must learn and be alert to, especially with a scrip breaking new high grounds.

With Bata we are breaking out of a range that extended for about two months. At 153 close tonight it's above several supports at 151, and the highest it's been is 159 with 164 intraday high. It's been far more resilient than REI in the recent down times. The volume doubled today from yesterday. So far so good. While it's very close to your entry yet, going by the recent show of strength, we may let it run around a little should the market begin to buck tomorrow. The trend appears firm from the consolidation of the past several weeks. To the up, we should get cautious approaching the earlier high to see if it reacts there and exit if there is strong supply there. Let's track it.
Take care.

Hi Amit

It was a very very very very very slow day.. I took off at Dr. Reddy @ 945 which was touched for a second.. and then shorted in intraday at 935.40 to 914... Which was a pretty picture for me.

Other then that nothing new at my place..

I also wanted to know about Gateway Distriparks and Bata..

I was asked by an analyst friend to take Gateway Distriparks @ 74 target at month end to be 400 ( Which I laughed at his face for not to mean insulting.. but that amount )

Any Suggestion would help me not getting bored in the next Trading session...

Thanks and appreciate the help

Hi Sahil...was about to go get a shut eye and saw this post.
No need to be so stressed as fundamentally all you scrips are strong, even if bought high. And the moral of the story is don't chase a running stock ever. If the entry is not right, the best of the best will let you down and trap you.
Cipla closed well today and if the market holds a bit longer there is every reason to believe you may see your entry soon. Fundamentally it's on strong grounds and delivered amongst the best results in the pharma pack. Should

Hi Amit,

Here I am back again:)Don't really know how market did today; however, Gateway, reached up to 281 & Reliance Caiptal to 378. So Atleast two scrips ended +iv for me. UTI still stuck in 234-240 range. Could you give me your idea, on what target should I look for in Cipla, Dabur, UTI Bank, Gateway & reliance Capital. Also, please advise what do you see for Satyam Comp.

Hope I could get your prompt reply:)

Thanks & regards,

Sahil
