Stock FUTURES To Keep A Close Eye On

Re: Gentle Advice

1) Futures and Options is Very Risky and it should not be done if one does not have exhaustive and good long experience of Stock Market.

2) In the begining we should not Trade as most of the people more than 95% loose money in Trading. We should invest instead of trading. I have friends who do not know anything about stock market and still make 25-30% anually by investing for long term in good scripts.

3) Futures and Options trading should be done once you are really comfortable otherwise you can loose all your portfolio in less than a month. (It has happened to many many people)

4) Futures and Options is mainly suited for Professional Traders or for people who breathe stock market 24X7 for years and We should be really careful in putting our hand into this.

It is like saying "buying on breakout" should be done by professional or seasoned traders and not by novices. Novices should stick to buying on dips.

My intention here is not to stop anybody from Futures and Options but I don't want anybody to loose their hard earned money for Greed.
At the same time ,an experienced trader should not forget to invest in
stocks in LONG term.

@shaslam

wise thinking.. much on the lines of safer investments..

but do u think putting money in to cash market always gives returns??
no.....
example : rpower etc.

when anyone who is not a 24 X 7 involved in stock market invests in some stock its never sure that his investment will give him returns..

buy and forget... its not possible

it can be trading or investment IT HAS A s/l.. TGT TIME FRAME we cannot forget any of these factors.

u trade in fut / cash / options there is always some projections and if it heads wrong way... U must EXIT !!

a PERSON like me ...trading for living kind off, i trade only options and/or fut but with a clear vision what i am doing. many of trades last for a few days and some for a few minits. some times profit some times loss also...

only thing that matters....... U must know what u are doing and how much financial risk is involved in it. its not abt if its a cash trade or derivatives trade.

i am not saying a new inestor should start with fut/options.. but should not make an opinion abt it while u dunno it

good luck and happy trading

I feel with QE2, obama visit, CIL fireworks the market will go up before a big crash.
After QE2, im reading over net that $ is likely to become very weak. might expect a big blow to US in arnd 2011 or latest by 2012

so the general feeling is market might see 6700/6900 levels in next 6 8 months before going down.

friends / SIRJI(s)... I think/feel nifty will correct from here somewhere...

an 30-50-100 points upmove... "if came" will be a great chance to short.?

I am not thinking now if NIFTY will take out all time HIGH or not.. its not bothering me...

how many of you feel the same...??

If you think nifty will correct.. how far it will have a dip?? 5800 ?5600? 5400? or just a minor correction say 6100-6050?

and yes.. which heavy weight stocks will cause majorly if the fall occurs?
I think nifty will see 6127....(spot) below it i dont know ! as I am a very short term trader sochta bhi chota hun :) already bought some small qty 6300 puts on muhurat day. will add more if 6400 taken out !

SBIN / ONGC can fall ?

my views.... may be wrong..

awaiting your views before market opens on monday

thanks in advance

Hi Goofy,

Options.....Monologue was left out on purpose.... considering our options market is not well developed and very skewed only handful of Scrips are liquid enough for venturing into.... On personal front I don't venture into it unless and until I can make a killing out of a particular contract.

Below are couple of Links from NSE on the the basics of futures & options from educational perspective...

Thanks, Mr. Option Fan, and of course, Mr. SG, for taking time to reply. I am downloading as I write.

I would like to share an interesting mail I received an hour ago from a friend. Hope all of you would like it:

TIPS! How people want tips!
They crave not only to get them but to give them.
There is greed involved, and vanity.
It is very amusing, at times, to watch really intelligent people fish for them.
And the tip-giver need not hesitate about the quality, for the tip-seeker is not really after good tips, but any tip.
If it makes good, fine! If it doesn't, better luck with the next.

All through time, people have basically acted and reacted the same way in the market as a result of: greed, fear, ignorance, and hope. That is why the numerical formations and patterns recur on a constant basis.

Right now, Mr. Sunil Mittal's horse (Airtel) is slowing down to less than 764 bytes/sec. Time to hit the stereo. If I wake up alive, tomorrow I'll see you all again. Till then, goodnight, and successful trading on Monday.
