we can get live market data from google. i m looking to develop stock screener
Why do you want to develop it? I mean writing entire code for it can be so expensive and time consuming. Instead get Amibroker professional edition that costs around 14,000 and you can yourself write AFL codes to screen stocks with predefined criteria.

Coming back to kkseal's point, will Amibroker handle "fundamentals"? Things such as P/E, debt:equity, P/BV, RONW, ROCE, dividend yield, dividend payout ratio and a zillion other ratios?

One could look here although I don't like the bit-by-bit information.

In addition, some of the screening uses outdated information.

Yes, AmiBroker can handle fundamental data. But the problem is getting that data into AmiBroker. Amiquote can extract the fundamentals from Yahoo finance. But Yahoo does not provide downloadable data for Indian stocks. For other stocks like US stocks the data can be downloaded into AmiBroker from Yahoo finance. So, if any one knows how to get the Indian stocks data into AmiBroker, then screening is possible.

www.askkuber.com provides an excellent screener for searching stocks in indian stock market. It provides lot of filters like PE Ratio, P/BV, Sales and Profit Growth etc for setting search criteria. It is web based and quite fast. Users dont have to download or install anything on their computer in order to use the screener. Following is the link to their screener.

I have found some excellent tools on equitymaster.com and fourstocks.com

Both of them have fundamental analysis tools. On the former, follow the link:

http://www.equitymaster.com/research-it/

On the latter, you can use their stock screener, by far the best I have found:

http://www.fourstocks.com/stock_screener
http://www.fourstocks.com/stock_screener/custom_screener

Apart from these, moneycontrol also provides a screener but it is rudimentary and they do not have latest fundamental ratio analysis.

Another technical analysis stock screener is
http://www.dhanwa.com
http://www.buzzingstocks.com uses a neural networks based TA engine
http://www.askkuber.com/IndianStock/IndianStockScreener
http://www.edelweiss.in/Tools/PowerScreener.aspx with pre defined criteria.
http://www.edelweiss.in/Tools/screener.aspx based on simple criteria.
http://www.fourstocks.com/stock_screener is a good fundamental analysis screener.

Stock screener saves one the trouble of maintaining a database or if one is away on the move and needs to use a backup.
