Uninitiated,
SL1 OR SL2 are values at which you can square off if the trade goes against you , In my knowledge no trading software will have a feature as SL1 and SL2 for a very simple reason what will happen if both get HIT ???, you will have short position .
Let me explain with an example,
NAME......... CMP......SIGNAL....S/L-1........ S/L-2

ABGSHIP..... 426.15......BUY.....408.45..... 402.90
Let us say reading the above you bought 100 shares of ABGSHIP and if for some reason the trade goes against you and if a software allows 2 SLs to be placed at 408.45 and 402.90 , when the price reaches 408.45 you SL1 is triggered and 100 shares will be sold , So you current postion i.e number of shares of ABG with you is ZERO , now if price still goes down and the second SL2 is also hit " WHAT IS YOUR POSTION ON ABGSHIP ???" you are short by 100 shares i.e you bought 100 shares and you sold 200 shares ,..... Got it !!! .
Individual can decide if they want to square off at SL1 OR SL2 depending on their risk taking capacity , Maybe after crossing the SL1 i.e 408.45 price may retrace and never touch SL2 .
(There are features like OCO( One cancels the other, this feature one can place a buy and a sell order on the same stock , when one gets executed the other gets cancelled , orders are not in the same direction(One is sell and the other is buy), this feature is not available in HDFC, nor do i think available any software in India ....NOT SURE )
