Well, that idea is off the table

But the fact remains who is going to pay for the setup, who is going to stop trading and do the leg-work, and how are we going to register this Co-op in many different states so that all members can benefit? Any ideas......
TM,

Don't worry about the costs associated with this....nobody has to spend anything except contribute to the corpus for its Core Competency... which is Investing & Trading.....Thats all

No more discussion....on this till I get back

Yes, my thought exactly, Mr. SG. I mean, the way we are planning, and getting so intense, about the whole thing reminds me of the story of Sheikhchilli, who was given a dozen eggs as wages by his employer, and he became a proud owner of a poultry farm in his thoughts by the time he reached his home. And then you all know what happened to those eggs...

Give it a rest guys. Seed has been put in our minds. Now let it germinate in the dark of our souls. If the shoot comes out, fine. If doesn't, we'll try something else.

Mr. SG, who is going to hold fort in your absence here? I suggest you please send PMs to Mr. Alroyraj, Mr Rajputz, Mr DanPickUp to share their valuable knowledge with us.

Would you believe, the last post took 10 minutes to upload - exactly!

Mr. Talisman, and also, Mr. 'Even Me' SG.

Now about that music thing:

Would you please both list-out five of your favourite Instrumental Albums and Five of your favourite writers? Count yourself out if that included any who remotely reminded me of the likes of Naipaul, Salman Rushdie, Shobha De or Chetan Bhagat. :)

Sorry to say that I donot like these so called research reports and investigations. They talk about numbers like 462 billions and percentages like 54.2 but having spent all their resources and energy can not even trace back atleast to a single entity with actionable information.

Even now all the media talk about telecom scam by Raja of 1,76,000 crores, but can not even track atleast 0.001% of it and provide the whereabouts of those 176 crores. Until they provide such info, it is of no use because nobody can be punished and similar scams will happen again and again.

Guys, read this.

India lost $462 bn in illicit financial flows

Washington, November 18
Post independence, India lost a staggering $462 billion in illicit financial flows due to tax evasion, crime and corruption, a research and advocacy group has said in a report. The report released by Washington-based Global Financial Integrity (GFI) found that the faster rates of economic growth since economic reform started in 1991 led to a deterioration of income distribution which led to more illicit flows from India

According to the primary findings of the report titled 'The Drivers and Dynamics of Illicit Financial Flows from India: 1948-2008', India lost a total of $213 billion in illicit financial flows (or illegal capital flight).

These illicit financial flows were generally the product of: tax evasion, corruption, bribery and kickbacks, and criminal activities. The present value of India's total illicit financial flows (IFFs) is at least $462 billion. This is based on the short-term US Treasury bill rate as a proxy for the rate of return on assets. India's aggregate illicit flows are more than twice the current external debt of $230 billion," the report said.

"This report puts into stark terms the financial cost of tax evasion, corruption, and other illicit financial practices in India," said Global Financial Integrity director Raymond Baker.

"It also shows that these illicit outflows contribute to stagnating levels of poverty and an ever widening gap between India's rich and poor," he said.

From 1948 through 2008 the Indian private sector shifted away from deposits into developed country banks and moved more of its money into offshore financial centres (OFCs). The share of OFC deposits increased from 36.4 per cent in 1995 to 54.2 per cent in 2009, the report said.

"In this report we clearly demonstrate how India's underground economy is closely tied to illicit financial outflows," said, GFI lead economist and report author, Dr Dev Kar.

"The total present value of India's illicit assets held abroad accounts for approximately 72 per cent of India's underground economy. This means that almost three-quarters of the illicit assets comprising India's underground economy-which has been estimated to account for 50 per cent of India's GDP (approximately $640 billion at the end of 2008)-ends up outside of the country,"

That is, about/more than 232,000,000,0000,00 Rs.! :annoyed:  :(

Well, I dont think anything here is even metaphorically related to Sheikhchilli ..at least because of inputs by few guyz, we know the idea of website and all is not gonna work...at times, waiting for s'thing in the dark of our souls only results in discovery of soul itself getting all dark and emitting nothing but smoke n fire.. and in any case..SG Sir will remain absent for few days..so the discussion and focus on this issue will certainly remain off the radar...

Well..well...I agree with Chetan Bhagat and Shobha De...but I dont see much wrong with Naipaul and Rushdie...Though, they are not my favorites..but pretty okay if you just look at them as writers...Chetan Bhagat leaves a bad taste in my mouth..but I like his marketing skills...he writes what sells and his being a bestseller tells us what public prefers..but well..that's another point...

About Writers...for me, noone can beat Ayn rand...then, Milan Kundera, Camus, Kafka and Gabriel Garcia (Can I replace him with Plath?)...

In Instrumental...wouldnt be able to name top 5...anything that is slow works for me..but the favorite one is Shakti...Originally with John McLaughlin on guitar, Shankar on violin, Zakir Hussain on tablas and Vikku Vinayakram on claypots..

You right, brother. Me neither.

But gets tracked or not, we, the ordinary folks, know the tragic truth.

Well.. Sir has asked for no further discussion but just one point here...
Its just 20k bro and not 2L..even 2-3 guyz can combine together and contribute...I for one, am willing to contribute my part...second, not all of us do full-time trading..and the way I visualise it..with the bigger picture in mind, one shouldnt mind missing trading for a few days..about ideas...thats' what I mentioned yesterday...but see..Shesha gave us a nice link..ideas will keep emerging...and lastly...different people from different states can volunteer for registration process...for instance..I can make an inquiry about all this in Delhi..similarly..other guyz from other states..

rest..as Goofy Bro says..take it slow..:p
If you are ready, I'm ready to contribute.
:)
