Maxine,

I suggest give up Margin Trading as quickly as possible....

I remember my post where I mentioned that I wouldn't comment on anybody if trading on Margin....anyways.... today have too many things happening around me here at home......will find sometime perhaps on another day to write why one should not indulge in Margin Trading

Mr SG - Will do that, no margin trading from tomorrow :thumb:

Hi YLS,

Seeing huge volumes on the Buy side is total myth that the demand is more therefore price will move up....

This myth is constantly discussed on Channels & Analysts and that is another reason why small traders get trapped....

How many times have I been asked about whether I look at volumes for Trading.... I have constantly said... NO

Today in the morning Gourav... posted an image of 5 Bid Ask with much higher volume on the Buy side... what did I tell him... It will go down... I don't know what happened by the end... because don't have TITAN on my watch list... but it should have gone down atleast 12-15bucks from whatever I noticed in the Image....within 20 minutes of that Image

Hi SG,

How do these bid-ask values work? Today, TVS Motors was trading at Rs. 80....bid-ask values were going down by 5 paise. At 79.90, I saw 4-5 bid quantities of 10000+ whereas the the ask quantities were 100+. However, the price continued to move down. I'm confused....if there was demand for shares at the 79.90 level, why did the price move down?

Thanks for the clarification :)
If you don't mind, can you please explain why is it so?

Swati,

Just a few things to think about

- Remember there is always "disclosed quantity". So what you see as quantity might not be what is actually there.

- The bids you saw at 79.9 could be the earlier shorts covering. People tend to cover around round values and option strike prices.

- The general market conditions also dictate the individual stock movements. So today after lunch, the general trend was a "sell off".

E.

Hi Amit,

To detect one must at least have NF, BNF, RIL, ONGC, SBI, BHEL & LT on the screen...when observing the Indexes (BSE & NSE) if one notices slightly faster rate of Lower Low..... and the screen gets awash in RED as if there is Basket Selling... then you know the Big Guys are actively participating..in moving the Index...

SavantGarde

Dear Mr SG,

At what time, does this generally happen? How can we detect that index management is going on?

Thanks.

Amit.

Hi Rishi,

At the time when I saw Gourav's post... first thing was the huge buy Quantity compared to the Sell Qty.....and If I remember correctly we had not made the high of the Index for the day but it was very close to topping out...at that point of time....

Anyways...can somebody tell me where did TITAN go after the price in the Image....

SG Sir,

Please let me know how did you know that it would fall, was your decision based on just this screen shot?

There was a sudden drop of 10 points in the next 4 minutes. Then, it went consistently down to the closing of 3680.
