I agree. Bad choice of stock. I thought I might get lucky... :D Raunak Sir's swing trades are famous. Unfortunately, SL was hit. I should have gotten out right away...

Yesterday, DLF had closed @293. Today, was very stable @286 -- stiff resistance. Was not coming down at all... I thought Nifty might bounce back in the afternoon. So, went long.

Note to self: "Never bet on Real Estate in a weak market"
I think hold on look what the promoter is doing he is absorbing the supply from the market his stake in the company is almost 93% just wait for the RBI policy if no IR Hike it will run like crazy. I have a huge conviction abt the real estate market I think it will outperform in the coming months. I maybe completely wrong but at these rates the stocks are very cheap but this is fundamentally technically its the weakest link. But my favourite in the real estate sector is HDIL fundamentally very cheap compared to all others in the real estate sector.

Hate to pick on you but still ....
Did you read up the homework I had given you? You had issues handling one lot of ABG and here you went on a panic buying spree ...

If you have a ledger of 20 Lacs or more, then I stand corrected and do not read below ..
If not, you need to know that big is not always better. What exactly was the point of buying two co-related futures? Do not always do bottom fishing, look for pockets for strength and buy them in a weakness - Tata Steel, Reliance, Tata Motors for example today ...

Enough of ranting but something boils inside me when people buy 1000 shares of MOIL or 4 lots of futures.

Hi enygma

Fear of lot size (silly fear)......ABGSHIP has 1000, SBIN has 125 and BNF just 25. Don't know but I feel comfortable with SBIN and may now handle panic situation to some extent (with SBI).

Yes, thanks for correcting me as I took positions in BNF too with SBIN......agreed, that was really not a good bet.

Exited SBIN by 3:29 today itself (some profits by selling and buying again in lower levels) and holding BNF only.

Thanks for your concerns, and do correct me whenever you see such mistakes. Always welcome.

Thanks and regards !:)

There is a unanimous consensus amongst analysts that RBI won't increase interest rates this time. Lets see how the market performs tomorrow. Monday and Tuesday were very strong positive days. On Wednesday, the market turned on its head... completely unbelievable... I did not think the correction would be so sharp after such a good rise for 2 consecutive days. :)

But I have noticed that markets hate Real Estate stocks...

Cheers!

Markets hate real estate stock when ppl are very cautions if you believe we have a bull run which will begin next year wait and watch this sector unleash its furry. Every bull market the infra stocks, the real estate stocks lead the rally the problem is we are still not in a bull market because we need to make new highs before we can say we are in a bull market we haven't broken Jan 2008 peak convincingly. Once we cross that and 6500 watch for nifty 10,000 by 2012 and then we will talk abt valuations on realty sector. How many ppl own a flat or a house in the population of 1.2 billion. Have u in your city seen property prices going down? What was the property price in 2008 and wht is it today? Are the real estate projects going up or coming down? The only problem is during the one bad year where these companies had a lot of leveraged positions they were looking weak but now most of the debt is converted into stocks through QIPs and getting rid of debt through QIPs means less interest burden. HDIL did a QIP recently at Rs280 if that firm has a conviction tht it will go up I am buying at 30% discount today. Think long term. I have most of my portfolio for long term holding and trade 4-5% short term. I made a mistake in the beginning of my trading career that I used to make decisions to trade but the criteria or choice by me was for the investment perspective. My anticipation was usually rewarded but by that time I had already booked my positions in some profit and had exited the counter. Now I have started to be patient with my investments.

Even if I can't make perfect entry or exit and I still come out with decent profit, the profit one year later is much higher because I have to pay no tax on it. So started declaring most of my stocks which I buy as long term investment.
