RE-Post From Ami Section To Keep A Track

Hi Guys,

Didn't Know Doc Had Posted The Request Here....For AFL, Therefore Only Got To Know About It From My Regular Thread.

Firstly & Most Importantly My Sincere Thanks To Everybody...DJSinha, Rajendrani, Prasad, Kamalesh & To Doc For Posting The Request.

Now Coming To The Brasstacks.....

a) BB Is NOT A Buy Or Sell Trigger When Pierced On Either Side

b) It Is An Envelope Around The Price Action Indicating The Range

c) For Investors It Is An Alert When Pierced On The Upper BB To Probably Book Profit In That Particular Scrip...Or Atleast To Start Exiting & That It Will Come Down.

d) Heart Of The BUY & SELL Is The Crossover Of The SMAs Which Sustains For Some Period To Come....Till Opposing Crossover Has Taken Place.

e) Therefore, We Need An Exploratory System That Will Scan Primarily For SMA Crossover Or Better Still, If Something Can Be Added To AFL Whereby We Can Get A List Of Stocks Where The SMAs Have Converged Or Are About To Converge Noticeably, For An Early Entry....

f) Crossover Is Confirmatory Point Where Even Most Risk Averse Traders & Investors Can Take Up Position....For Sustained Move....That Also Provides A Very Good Early Entry Into The Scrip.

Once Again Sincere Thanks, May God Bless You All With Health, Wealth & Your Wishes

Thanks a lot...:)

To Illustrate My Point (e) Quoted Below,

e) Therefore, We Need An Exploratory System That Will Scan Primarily For SMA Crossover Or Better Still, If Something Can Be Added To AFL Whereby We Can Get A List Of Stocks Where The SMAs Have Converged Or Are About To Converge Noticeably, For An Early Entry....
Triggers For The Below Quoted Banks Were Given On 17th, Just Because I Was Exploring The Charts & Luckily Saw Convergence Of The SMAs, I Think I Have Mentioned In The Footnote Something To The Effect On That Days Triggers..Infact As Per What Has Been Programmed Into My System Those Triggers Have Only Been Generated In The Last 3 or 4 Days....Hence The Request For Stock Exploration AFLs In AMI & MS Based On The SMAs

Where Most Benefit Maybe Squeezed Out Of A Scrip....

It Is Very Difficult To Manually Go Through Each Stock Chart To Scan For Convergence....I Am Sure Most Of The BUY or SELL Triggers Could Have Come A Lot Earlier.

>>> DJSinha,

Please Concentrate On Your Studies & Upcoming Exam...AFLs Can Come Later & Thanks For Being Such A Great Sport

An Excellent Example Of BB (9,2) In RPL November 2007 & Funny Part Was When I Was Telling A Few Friends To SELL, I Was Also Called An Idiot By A Few, Who Said That They Had Reliable Information From Brokers & Others That It Will Touch 800+, Look What Happened In Reality To RPL & RNRL During The Same Period.

Guess What, Most Who Have This Stock With Them Are Stuck With Nov.'07 Prices.....Moreover Those Who Never Knew What A Stock Market Was Let Alone Having Ever Invested Ever Through An IPO, Wanted To BUY RPL & RNRL

Ok, I am still traveling in the joungle of signals generated, I see that how difficult it is n what kind effort You DAILY Hats Off Captain!!!.

Here is little example(please note that bb is w/o sma n database is only upto 26):

Some problem I am facing is if I scan it for today it misses previous entry point. And if scan for whole database (say 6 month)it catches all entry point current+recent past but You can Imagine they are lot of in no. So need to find some solution like filter or so... I hope it will improve with time... :)

Thanks.

Hi Doc,

You Have Licked The Bigger Problem, Where Are You Worrying About Small Tweaks......Don't Worry, DJSinha Will Iron Them Out.....Just Give Him A Little Time.....Happy Scanning For Monday.....I Have Tons Of BUY For Monday....Should be A Good Entry Points Considering We Will See Some Softness In The First Half, & Most Probably Picking Up In The Second Session, Still Need To Get Myself To Update It Manually For The Thread....

Chart Looks Very Good, Inact Very Juicy.

Using an MACD of the SMAs (with an 8 period SMA smoothing for the signal line) might help. This is likely to give a lot more whipsaws than the MAs themselves & as such should not be used as the primary Buy/Sell trigger. However it can give early alerts to the 'convergence' that Savant mentions.

Regards

P.S. The default MACD in Ami uses EMAs.
