Shanky,

I Would Have Normally Given The Required Details But Was Feeling A Little Under The Weather So Could Only Give The List.

Even If You Open The Required Chart From NSE EOD Data And Hover The Cursor On Yesterday's Bar You Will Be Able To See OHLC

Alternatively, You Can See The Details On Yahoo

Hello Savantji,

I have a question regarding the strategy you mentioned today- to buy above yesterday's high and keep s/l as yesterday's low.

Now I am not sure how we should be getting the yesterday's high and low values. If we try to get quote from the nse website, we see usually previous day's close value and no other information from previous day. I am using nse bhavcopy to get information on high and low values of previous day but I would like to know if there is any better and efficient method that could be used for obtaining these values.

Kind Regards;
Shanky

Uma,

Dates Quoted By Me Could Be Different Cause There Were Many Holidays Then, Now For The Rest Of What You Have Mentioned, I Will Need To Check On It, Data I Have Is From Yahoo.

Savant Sir,

Data from Yahoo or NSE should not vary to this extent although I know that some times Yahoo gives erroneous values. Please check the historical data and reply at your convenience. I assume that 20 DMA means 20 day simple moving average and 50 DMA means 50 day Moving Average. If this is not the case then my understanding is wrong. In literature I found that DMA means Displaced Simple moving average. That is SMA off set by a particular period either shifted to left or right. In that case it is necessary to mention the value of shift along with the moving average.

Thanks for your quick reply and expecting further clarification from you. Once the point is clarified I will try to make an AFL for Amibroker to select stocks based on the criteria mentioned by you.

Regards

Rishi,

Please HOLD Your SUZLON, Nothing To Worry.

I Posted About These Guys, Because They Are Here To BUY & Have Been Buying, While They Want Us Small Investors To BUY At The Same Time....These Guys Are The Worst Type Of Guys To Come Across & One Shouldn't Heed What They Say.

Whatever I Read Between The Lines, Is Put In A Post So That Retail Investors Don't Get Rattled.

Savant Sir

This topic relates to shares but I am having an impending doubt.

I have been trading on Sharekhan for some time and like their intutive simple market watch. Although, their site is a hell to navigate through.

Coming to the question: Recently, I had a chance to look upon Reliance Money and India Infoline trading terminals. What really stumped me was, there were three trading columns. Namely,

LTP : Last trading Price.

B.Rate: Bid Rate. (Same as the trading price)

A.Rate: Ask Rate. (Couple of paise diff form trading price, in cases about 10 paise)

Now, from my forex experience I know that forex brokers dont charge you any brokerage on any Buy/Sell but it is taken care of by the spread (Ask -Bid difference).

But, why are they used in Stock markets? Are they the same thing here? They effectively offset any P/L calculation (even if by paise margin). Also, is there any mechanism or calcualtion used to calculate the P/L ? or is it something at broker's discretion?

This question might be directed to Savant Sir but anyone who has an idea can answer the same.

Hi Vicky,

Columns You See Are Default Columns & Can Customised 50+ Columns Giving You Other Data Viz. OI, OI%, Etc..Etc..

BID ASK & Volume Is Used By Traders To Help Them, Or Many Times To Become Best Buyer & Best Seller

There Are No Spreads Built-In Like FCMs Trades Can Be Veirfied By Putting The Relevant Details On NSE & BSE To See What The Actual Execution Price Was & That Price Should Be Same As On The Contract Note....If It Isn't One Should Go With The Contract Not Directly To The Exchange To Report.

Other Helpful Columns Available Are Weighted Avg., TBQ, TSQ,
