Ever since I read this I have been trying to get more info on it but it seems to be a bit difficult.

So far what I know is that NSE publishes a list of shares which are allowed to be traded strictly on delivery basis which belongs to the segment "BE". Others, in the "EQ" segment can be traded intraday or BNST.

Here again there seems to be a segregation on which ones can be shorted and which ones can't be. I am waiting for the brokers response on this. In the meanwhile just wanted to know if anyone knows where we can get such info from NSE?

Hi LT,

Lots Of Great Work On Your Part, My Friend.

Anyways....Coming To Intraday.

In My Opinion Most Shares Can Be Traded LONG Or SHORT As Long As It Is Squared Off Before The Market Closes.

Perhaps The Only Exceptions Maybe T2T Shares, Which I Am Not Sure Regarding Intraday Trading.

What Exchange Has Put Out Is A List Of Liquid Stocks With High Volumes For BTST......But Risk Shall Always Remain With The Client Incase Of Bad Delivery.

Since I Can Only Talk From My Personal Experience, Bad Deliveries On Very Liquid Stocks Is Extremely Rare, I Remember A Few Years Back I Did BTST With REL (New Name RELINFRA) Where I Got Short Quantity On My Purchase Of 400, But In The End It Worked Out Quite Ok, Netting Some Profit Inspite Of Some Bad Delivery On That.....

That Was The Only Instance I Have Faced Since Coming To Market In May 2004.....

Most Of The Problems Are Created By The Broker On Purpose With A View Of Earning Extra Money.

Keep Up All The Good Work...Have A Few Links For You To Read, Perhaps When You Are In Chat Room, Will Give It To You There.

Re: Stocks To Keep A Close Eye On - Chapter II

Savant,

For Adlab, you had recommended short below friday's low, with high as s/l.

The high & low on Friday on BSE was 354/300.

Kindly clarify whether s/l is not very high & whether the recomm is for intraday or positional in cash or f&o.

Is this strategy is applicable to all similar cases.

Is it applicable only for the next day or could be done whenever the stock trades below the low on any of the subsequent days. If so,whether the s/l to be modified.

Best of lucks,

ranga
