Tarun,

Great Trades!!!!!

One more thing you could have done is this :

15 lots bot at an avg price of 126/-.
Profit at cmp of 176/- per lot = 50 rs.

So sq off 10 lots and u get 11x50=550 (x50 per lot) as profit.
Balance 5 lots have cost you 4x126=504 (x50 per lot) which is now adjusted in the profit of the 11 lots.

Means these 4 lots are FOC. Keep holding them with a DEEP SL of say 135 (todays open price) and keep on riding the highs.

Why this setup? Becuse Nifty has just broken new Highs of 2009 and another smart rally is in the offing thereby increase chances of more profits.

Hope my logic is good.

Savant: some update about ur 4700 call:

another 500 @ 98

Hi Rajasekhar,

My Apologies...For The Typo...It Should Have Read As 'Do Not Know What...Though'
TTML - Yes You Can Enter....But Divide Your Target Quantity In 4 Parts, Of Which BUY 1 Part Now....2nd.....3rd & 4th...At Ever 0.80-1.10 Dip....

UTTAMGALVA Had Triggered BUY Earlier...There Might Be A Bit Of Quick Profit In It....In View Of The Open Offer From Arcelor-Mittal.

Sorry to mix up questions, thought that this as a good thread to ask this newbie question -
When we allocate stocks for selling is it guaranteed that all (or few) of the stocks gets sold?, i know may be a stupid question. My question - say if we buy 50 numbers of some great stocks (after studying) for long term investing. 1,2 years after that if price of the stocks gone higher (profit for sure) and you list all of them for selling (say you are using ICICIDirect). If its guaranteed that it gets sold then for sure you get profit, isn't it? If stocks gets sold only if there are buyers at that time (till your sell request is live) then profit is not guaranteed isn't it? I wanted to know if this understanding is correct. Like in Mutual Fund when you want to sell units there is no question of these units not getting sold, does this hold true for Stocks as well?

Hi,

Enygma,

Here is your first afl for your Amibroker, add your "tweak" as per need.

.... .... ....

Anant and Ken I will appreciate correction/modification in the afl pl.

CNB
Hi Chandra,

Sorry for delay in replying. Your logic and implementation is perfect. Only a couple of things I want to point out:

1. In the beginning you have "_N(Title = ...." which is nullified by the "Title = ..." in the end. No harm. The last "Title = " is taken. You can remove _N(Title = ..." at the beginning.
2. As it is programmed, there are a lot of whipsaws generated. I am also implementing a similar AFL. I am attaching a chart of ABB below. The upper chart is generated by my AFL and the lower one is by yours. I have circled three areas. You can see that the areas in yellow circles have more whipsaws in your chart compared to the corresponding areas in my chart.
3. The area in pink circle has a couple of signals in your chart whereas no signals in my chart.

A little more tweaking and you will get much better performance from the AFL. I will discuss these issues when I present my system shortly.

Overall, it is a very good effort and implementation. Congratulations. Keep it up.

The ABB char is here:

Hi Pravin,

Since You Mentioned Great Stocks.....

Good Quality Stocks Or Otheriwse.

There Is A BID & ASK Price.

Bid Is Usually Little Less Than ASK Because The Prospective BUYER Wants It A Little Cheaper.

Similarly ASK Is A Little More Because A Seller Wants To Get A Little More.

Now That We Have BID & ASK Out Of The Way.

Now Coming To The Part Of Actual Selling.
There Is Something Called The 'Market Order'....Wherein You Can SELL All The Quantity You Intend To Immediately.....Because In Market Order You Are SELLING The Stock At BID Price.

Now Coming To 'Limit Order' Let's Assume Current Price Of A Stock When You Intend To SELL Is Rs.100.00 & You Want To SELL It At 103.00
In Such A Case You Can Put A Limit Order At The Price You Are Willing To SELL......Now What Happens...Is Only When You Have A BUYER Intending To BUY At Your SELL Price Will The Order Get Executed.

It Is Simple Demand & Supply....Matching.

There Are Other Conditions Where Your Order Will Not Be Executed.

a) If The Scrip Hits The Lower Circuit & Your SELL Order Is Higher Than The Lower Circuit.
b) In Lower Circuit There Are Only SELLERS At The Same Price Therefore It Is A First Come First Serve Basis....There Is No Guarantee That All Or Part Of Your Quantity Maybe SOLD.

Lower Circuit Also Popularly Called Lower Freeze, Similarly You Have Upper Circuit Or Upper Freeze.....These Circuit Or Freeze Percentages Are Decided A Day Ahead Of The Market By The Exchanges....& Therefore Price On The Upside Or Downside Can't Move Beyond The Percentage Change Decided By The Exchange..
