Stocks To Keep A Close Eye On

Thanks @Enygma & apologies for the late thanks. I have been literally sleeping in the hospital since Sat due to a family emergency with no access to internet.

Just to elaborate, I had taken this position the last time GVK had moved above a consolidation with strong volume last month & had rolled over the position to Sep. Unfortunately, there was no follow-through to the breakout with strong vol. The mistake, as usual, I did was not to have a strict stop-loss & hence had gotten stuck in it. Savant's & your comforting words have helped & to my pleasant surprise, today's upmove has helped as well!

Let me also request someone to summarize if possible, stop loss rules.

- just below the previous day's close, based on MAs, I believe there is something called parabolic SARs etc

BTW, if it means anything, Ashwini Gujral was recommending a buy on GVK with target of 58 & SL of 44 at the end of the day today.

Kumar,

As Savant says hold for now. Just wanted to add one thing for your learning. Be careful about taking long positions, especially in futures near to resistances. Wait for it to take out the resistance. In this case, GVK has resistance around 49-50 on the daily charts and supports around 45. It has pierced the lower BB yesterday and if it gives you a green candle today, then you will get a upmove.

I am starting to sound like the handsomely dressed TMA HOD that PT-Bhai was referring to on his thread, so no more gyaan on support and resistances for the day. Just that I could not resist giving you this support :)

Regards,
Enygma.

Just to elaborate, I had taken a position in GVK after it had broken out after a consolidation period with strong volume last month & had rolled over the lot into Sep. Unfortunately, there wasn't a follow-through to this breakout & rather, it started moving down. Unfortunately, as usual, I didn't have a strict stop loss & had gotten stuck in it. Savant's & your conforting words are a big help. I was pleasantly surprised with the strong up move today as well!

I also wanted to request if anyone can summarize the stop loss rules here if possible:

- keeping it just below previous day's close, based on MAs, I believe there is something called parabolic SARs etc. This is a selfish request on my part as I wanted to study the different ways of determining it in one place & then see what might suit best.

BTW, if it means anything, Ashwini Gujral was today recommending a buy on GVK toward the end of the day with a target of 58 & SL of 44.

Sirjii,

I have a question completely related to me and is in not anyway related/useful to the thread.

I have read your Opinion about me( that i panic or get distracted which is true to a certain extent) regarding options and why i take such immature decisions ending in a loss.

Sirjii, now i have a few questions which can be sorted out with your experience:)

The first and foremost thing is i CANNOT keep a track of the markets:(.So that does mean i should NOT trade options????

Secondly, I can atmost spend 2-4 hours during the day for trading... So what is the best approach i should take??? I am really really interested in trading and eagr to learn it BUT time is not on my side.... So How do i Proceed????

Thanks
