Hi Doc
Think I can throw some light into the trades you took on thursday last.

1. VIDEOIND: Just don't buy immediately even if a WRB penetrates upper BB. Wait for the upper BB penetration to be lost. Buy when the high of a subsequent candle fails to penetrate the upper BB and infact lies below it. Just wait for this one candle. Buy immediately on the next candle. Price will come down for 4-5 more candles.

2. BHEL: Legends are not that clear. Assuming that the pink line is your 6 SMA, you should be in as soon as you sense a crossover, not after the crossover or even not after 2 or 3 candles have formed after the crossover. This is because, SMA being a lagging indicator, in most of the time, it'll not give you much space to think and act. Trend will reverse immediately and you'll be caught in the wrong direction. In the BHEL chart, you should have been in on the third candle to the left of the one you entered.

First I Made A List Of Few Stocks Like RNRL, RPL, HDIL, NAGCONS, CHAMBALFER, BALRAMPURCH, RENUKA SUGAR. During First Session I See That They Are Not Moving Much, SMA's In Different TimeFrame Are Not Giving Me Indication To Go Long Or Go Short. At The End Of First Session I See That After GapUp Opening, It Was Possible For Me To Go Short On Most Of The Stock. But It Was Too Late Now. So I Picked Up BUY Trigger Signal From 8'th April EOD Data. I Was So Amazed That Most Of Them Did So Well, Inspite Of Market Instability.

So Here Is My Trading Summary In Second Session:

a. Then I Shorted VideoInd. Reason Entry- WRB Piercing Upper BB. But Within Few Seconds I Saw It's Near Upper Circuit. I Covered Short When It Was 19.92% Up. Reason Exit- Due To Auction Fear . Soon It Hitted Upper Circuit. I Think This Is Exception To Rule. One More Exceptional Trade Ahh...

b. After That I Shorted Bhel. Reason Entry- I See That 6SMA Crossing Over 5SMA(10 Min), I Looked At Upper TF Confirmation Was There I Went Short. Again I See Things Are Going Against Me. Reason Exit- I Waited For Bullish Crossover But This Time I Was Smart I Didn't Waited For Confirmation From Upper TF. Here I Forget About Lower BB, Actually I Came To Know ThereAfter In BB Thread.

Hi DJ,

Firstly I Can't See The BB In Doc's Charts Only The SMAs, Purple One Being SMA-5 & The Whitish One Is SMA-6

For Videocon He Should Have Entered On The 9th Bar From The Right That Is Where The Confirmation Of The 10th Bar Looks Clearer To Me, Why Did He Short It I Can't Understand From The Chart.

BHEL Has Clear Crossover On 15th or 16th Bar To Go Short, In Which Case He
Would Have Covered When You See The Big Red Bar With A Big Tail Which I Think Has Probably Pierced The Lower BB.

Now I See That In BHEL Doc, Got Confused When The Lower BB Got Pierced & He Shorted It Instead Of Going Long Just For The Pull back, For A Quick Tade.

The faint blue lines are the BBs. In VIDEOCON, Doc shorted on the last to last candle which was a WRB piercing the upper BB. The trade that you mentioned in your post would have been a very good one had it been taken.
In the BHEL case, what you have said may be true.

Firstly I Can't See The BB In Doc's Charts Only The SMAs, Purple One Being SMA-5 & The Whitish One Is SMA-6

For Videocon He Should Have Entered On The 9th Bar From The Right That Is Where The Confirmation Of The 10th Bar Looks Clearer To Me, Why Did He Short It I Can't Understand From The Chart.

BHEL Has Clear Crossover On 15th or 16th Bar To Go Short, In Which Case He
Would Have Covered When You See The Big Red Bar With A Big Tail Which I Think Has Probably Pierced The Lower BB.

Now I See That In BHEL Doc, Got Confused When The Lower BB Got Pierced & He Shorted It Instead Of Going Long Just For The Pull back, For A Quick Tade.

hii friends..as far i know trend reversal takes place after a breakout only when a redcandle appear inside the upper bollinger band..nevertheless i dont think bollinger band alone can predict the trend reversal..we shou;ld wait for double top to form.or macd signals ...sma can also predict if actually trend reversal is taking place..can any one correct me if i am wrong..Bijoy Bhilai
