I agree Savantji, I was talking about long term. What wil happen is when you are getting into a co which is overvalued then the returns are less even if technically the stock looks good the returns may not be upto the mark. For short term valuations are not looked at I guess.

Hi Bunny,

I guess, even you are not very old in this interesting field. So how exactly did you went for learning these things. One, i guess is TJ threads and apart from that? I mean things like getting to know RSI, MACD (7,12) combinations etc. I try to look at charts and figure out things but as Priyan said, some more accurate analysis is needed. You started with any books or what? Recently I got hold of John Murphy's book (tech analysis of fin. market) in PDF format. I hope, that gives me a better perspective.

Regards,
I started learning TA since May-June this year. Initially I tried a lot stuff on web, on this forum, etc. But everything was not as organized as for a beginner. So I got the book "How to make money trading with charts" - By Ashwani Gujral. The book was a good starter that provided basic knowledge of reading charts.

But these days, my decisions are based on Volume Spread Analysis(VSA) and I find myself much more comfortable with it.

BTW, I do not use any of those technical indicators, even SMA/EMA, Stochs, RSI, etc. Volume and historical price action serves best.

Any study you do for daily trading, if it does not include volume analysis, you will not get good results from it because it does not analyse the "effort" in the situation.

I am curious ...Will you please explain this further...
Lets say I am a big investor in a company which is not doing so good. I would buy an sell to manipulate the chart and they show a breakout on volumes to attract investors otherwise I can't sell out without the stock tanking before I could sell my stake.

In case of a company whose profits/earnings are falling. You will see that even if the price has been constant the lower earnings or higher debt will take a toll on it's fundamentals making the company overvalued. The price going up is not the only reason for a company to be overvalued. Fundamental investors, which mostly are long term investors will avoid such a stock and if you buy the stock thinking it will go higher you will get caught in a trap.

So which the technicals look good you have to make sure the company is also doing well. But all this only applied if you are a long term investor.

For short term even one like AKRUTI will do. Good profit on it :thumb:

... Is the same thing (trappedbull) happened with bharati Airtel???
Airtel is reacting to news. Since we are not able to get the details of the deal yet, you will need to wait. I feel Airtel has delivered for so long. It will do well in the future. But the increased competition is also a problem talking a toll on margins. BTW I am holdiing Airtel.

Hi Talisman,

Yes It Means HOLD If It Goes Down, & Most Importantly Whatever You Do Should Be Within Your Means. NOT On Margin....Therefore Only Small Quantity At A Time.

Another Thing You Can Do Is If You Have Intraday Charting Available Is To Overlay 12 EMA On The Charts On A 5 Min. TF, When A Whole Candle Including The Wick Closes Above The 12 EMA Line, You Can Enter The Trade & Exit Wherever You Want

Happy & Safer Investing

Savant ji,
BVCL & TVS didnt really make any move so I think it would be prudent to buy some more at this juncture. Margin is not a problem because I had purchased all the shares as per the quantity suggested by you. So, have some liquidity available at my disposal. However, I made one mistake of purchasing too many scripts (8 in total) and that too after getting rid of Gail, India cem N Gspl after taking some profits. Going by the movement, taking part profits off Balaji tele and I think will have to hold BVCL and TVS for slightly longer period bcoz of direct co-relation of these two sectors with monsoon factor. Do you think, its fine this way?

Regards,
