Kartik sri

pls refer your chart of SBIN, in this pls reply on following

1. We buy if price closes above 5 WMA(high) and we sell if price closes below 5 WMA (low), than why did we required 5 WMA (close).
2. It has lot of whipsaw, can we do something for those whipsaws or you are looking for 1% gain as intraday?

thanks

anil
Yes Bro...it has whipsaws but i have not backtested the winning/losing trade percentage...since its positional atleast is should be carried for 2-3 days!

Yes as i said 1% for intraday gain! But some SL trade will eat away the 1% gain which we have generated:eek:

Let me try out / fishout a good positional method with consistent return!

First of all.. Thanks Karthik for sharing your ATP strategy. Nice to see that all are actively posting their day to day observations w.r.t ATP approach. I am a novice in share market. So please excuse if I ask basic questions.

@Karthik - (ABOVE ATP BUT DIDNT MADE HIGH OF THE PREVIOUS ATP) - Here previous ATP for 7th candle refers to 6th candle or 1st candle?

I observed SAIL yesterday. Please explain how we should have traded/avoided trade.

VWAP - 85.69

Candle#Open High Low Close Comments
1 86.45 86.8 85.6 85.8 ATP candle closes above VWAP. Get ready to trade.
2 85.8 86 85.6 85.65 ATP candle closes below VWAP and does not touch previous ATP candle high. WAIT.
3 85.75 85.75 85.6 85.9 ATP candle closes above VWAP but does not touch previous ATP candle high. WAIT.
10 85 86.4 85 86.4 ATP candle closes above VWAP and touches previous ATP candle high. Go long? What should be the target and SL in this case?
Hello Student,
There is a difference of VWAP given by you and from the NSE which i have taken.

The Avg Price (ATP) as per NSE for SAIL is 84.92 (Dt: 17.12.12)
We have to trade on Intraday on 18.12.12 with the ATP price. You can find the rules from my previous post.

I have attached the Chart of SAIL 18.12.12 with the Trading oppertunities numbered as 1,2&3.

1. The first trading oppertunity numbered as 1 in the chart touched the ATP and closed above ATP with high of 85.30 and low of 84.85. We have to place our buy order at 85.30. The order got fullfilled (see next candle) and we are in Trade.

2. The candle marked as 2 made low of 84.65 and hit SL 84.85 and our 1st Trade hit with SL. But the candle touch ATP and closed below ATP and gave another oppertunity for going short. The High is 85.30 and Low 84.65. We place our sell order at 84.65 and order got fullfilled on the next candle. We are in Trade

3. The candle marked as 3 didnt made further low proceed upwards and touched ATP and closed above ATP. But we are still in Trade as our SL is 85.30 which is High of the ATP candle where the signal generated. The next big green touch our SL and we are out from the trade with SL hit on the second trade.

We are not initiating or going long as there is no subsequent candle touch ATP.

in nseindia.com only just drawing inamginary ATP lines (in the mind)...as all the other sites charts values are barely correct
so as I understand correctly, you are using this -->
http://nseindia.com/ChartApp/install/charts/mainpage.jsp

and in this, you're using 15min chart & 1H interval INTRADAY....no other indicators required.
For ATP, you're using this -->
http://www.nseindia.com/products/content/equities/equities/eq_security.htm

using above, the ATP of ADANIENT is 290.59 (19th Dec 2012)

Confirm all this buddy...thank you !
