Trading NR7 setup

BPCL to watch. High 645 and low630. NR -7 is there.

So finally after posting above figure, NR - 7 break up in the week.
BPCL high 654.8 low 621. So there is NR -7 break up.
645 expands to 654.8 and 630 tp 621.

NR7 is very powerful setup.
Yesterday Nr7 triggered for Hindzinc&Sunpharma. So today i entered with 150share of sunpharma@1728 [email protected]. Entered with 150share of hindzinc@1092 exit@1101.
Last month Nr7 gave nice profit also in other trades.

Dear AW,

We have 2NR7 in Nifty futures today and had a NR7 on 17th august also and this entire month, we had very low volatility barring few days and this week being expiry week, how do you see our Markets this week and in September. Also, today seems to be the lowest range day in perhaps past 2 years or more..

Long time since we had some of your wonderful posts here. Hope to see a good discussion now..... :thumb:

Amruth, you are right. We have been seeing the range contraction. It is getting narrower and narrower. Yesterday's range of 31 points is still better that range of 27 points that we saw on 5/july still it is not something that we trader will like to see.
Weekly range has been approx 100 points in this week.

seasonally as well, the summer time is low volatility time in market.but best thing is that in western market, school holidays are getting over and hence people are returning to work when their kids go back to school starting september. IMO, market has not reacted to all the negative news that has been around.

We want to see decent range to make money..This contraction is a sign of coming expansion. And generally this expansion comes with the drop in market. Lets see what kind of new economic data we get in first week of Sept.

Time to trade cautiously and hedge the portfolio. And look out for opportunities knocking our door soon.

Century textiles gave NR7 signal yesterday & gave two false breakouts today!

the stock went below yest's low & again come back in the range...took out yest's high...went slightly up....got back in the range...again made a new high(slightly up from d previous high)...again came crashing down but this time didn't break yest's low....went up again & closed above yest's high!

strange behaviour...i haven't seen nethin like this in realtime trading as far as NR7 is concerned!! as the trade had triggered for me....suffered a considerable loss!

let me know if i have done anything wrong as far as entering the trade is concerned.

Yest. High: 517
Yest. Low: 510.1

i entered long at 520....the stock made an initial high of 521.4...come back into the range...went up to 522.4...come back crashing into the range & i booked loss! in the last 10 min or so...it took of yest's high again!

was expecting to cross at least 525 & then was gonna book profit....but had to book a considerable loss instead selling at 514!

fellow traders....please lemme know where m i goin wrong!

I have one more question. What is the normal upside or downside for a NR7 breakout?
what i mean is if the breakout is successful....shld we expect at least a 1-2% move in the stock price?

P.S.: All queries are regarding intraday time frame!

Hi!

I have updated NR7 tracker. There were few errors in the last one. So I am removing it and uploading a new and updated version.

In the last version, we have to punch the scrip id one by one to know whether it is on NR7 day or not. In this new version, we can see the scrips which fall on NR7 all at the same time.

To avoid errors/wrong results, we need to copy only EQ series (or just one series). In the bhavcopy we will get data of EQ,BE,IL,W1.... etc. There are scrips which fall on more than one series. In such case we would get wrong data which leads to wrong result. So we need to copy and paste only one series.

As in the last version, we need to copy and paste bhavcopy in the worksheet which contains oldest data. After pasting go to last row of the worksheet in which you just pasted data and look for any old datas and delete them. Because there could be some old data even after we pasted the new one or else you can copy the blank rows (from column A - K) as well from bhavcopy and paste it in NR7 Tracker file. While deleting don't delete formulas in the column L (RANGE).

After you are done with copy and paste, go to RESULT sheet where you can find the scrips which are on NR7 day. You can filter and see only the scrips which falls on NR7.

This might look like time taking process. I am sure, it won't take much time may be 2-3 min or even less. This will be helpful for those who don't have sophisticated software to find the NR7 scrips. I hope this will be useful for you guys. Please let me know if there is any error or something. And sorry I didn't know there were some in the last version.

hi nac, can you please update the excel to update automatically with todays value's?? it would be of great help.. i mean daily i open it on my system and click refresh all in excelsheet and it updates with new quotes saying if today was a NR7 or not.

I wish to have even better version. But my knowledge on MS Excel is very little. I don't know Macros. This is the best I could get till date.

Do you know, my heart filled with joy when I made this. Someone who got better knowledge can do.
