Trading NR7 setup

Consider the below trade. As per the NR7 setup, a short trade was initiated at 03/13/2013 10:10 @ Rs.488.8 (1000 shares). Short trade is initiated because 488.8 is lesser than 489.05(which low of NR7). So my initial stop loss will be high of NR7(489.9).

Column "F" is "HIGH-LOW", Column "L" is maximum range value for last 7 rows of column "F".

Column "M" is if maximum range value for last 7 rows of column "F" is current row then it returns "Y". Which simply means if column "L" = "cOLUMN "F" - it returns "Y".

So in column "M" wherever it is marked as "Y" then that row is considered to have maximum range value.

Back to the Trade:

1st Stop Loss: 489.9 (high of NR7)

Trailing SL 1: 488.95 (Column = "M" generated "Y")

So at this point consider your stop loss as 1st Stop Loss: 489.9

Trailing SL 2: 482.2 (Column = "M" generated "Y")

So at this point consider your stop loss as Trailing SL 1: 488.95

Trailing SL 3: 486.5 (Column = "M" generated "Y")

So at this point consider your stop loss as Trailing SL 2: 482.2

it goes on like this untill 3:10 PM. If your SL is not hit till this time, then book profit in whatever price it trades during this time.

Pl explain about column G and H

As NR7 was triggered for TCS yesterday, I have decided to trade TCS today. It gave a buy signal today at 9:55. Bought 250 shares @ Rs. 1407 and followed it up with trailing Stop loss till 15:10.

Exited the stock @ Rs.1435.

Total Investment Rs.35350

Profit Rs.5187

Returns: 14.6%

I strongly feel that with the NR7 setup, one can make a profitable trades in the long run.

Column G - Minimum value of last 7 rows of "F"

Column H - If column G = column H - Result is "Y" which means that row is the NR7 row.

TCS crossed its NR7 high 1382 at 9.25 itself. But you have purchased at 1407
and at 9.55.Any particular reason to purchase at that rate and time. If it is asper buy signal, as you said, will you please explain how it was generated.

Yes You are right, i should have entered at 1382.

hello, can someone post the excel to find scripts for both NR7 and ID pls? I have a excel which identifies NR7 (Post by NAC) but not ID..
