GM :
The US auto giant reports a loss of US$9.6bn in the Oct-Dec quarter. Revenue drops to US$30.8bn from US$46.8bn as a result of the worst industry sales in decades

But Indian Auto Ind seems good for next three months. am expecting a gud rally in M&M & TATA motors in st

Two things with M&M

1) am expecting good order flow
2) am expecting a breakout in trenline

ok what amibroker commentary says on M&M yest close??

Price
Date: 2/27/2009

Price and moving averages:
M&M(MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LTD) has closed above its Short time moving average.
Short time moving average is currently above mid-time, AND below long time moving averages.
The relationship between price and moving averages is: bullish in short-term, and neutral in mid-long term.

Bollinger Bands:
M&M(MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LTD) has closed below upper band by 26.1%.
Bollinger Bands are 45.0% narrower than normal.
The narrow width of the bands suggests low volatility as compared to M&M(MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LTD)'s normal range. Therefore, the probability of volatility increasing with a sharp price move has increased for the near-term. The bands have been in this narrow range for 13 bars. The probability of a significant price move increases the longer the bands remain in this narrow range.

This commentary is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Use at your own risk.

so a sudden change is thr i believe. & as my other friend told - even a small scrip on tht sector wil tend 2 move for sure when thr is a gud news.

ONGC cancels tenders for offshore supply vessels: report

Oil & Natural Gas Corp. has reportedly canceled tenders for offshore supply vessels because of delays in negotiations. The explorer has decided to extend current contracts.

According to reports, Shipping Corp. of India, Great Eastern Shipping Co. and Varun Shipping Co. have chartered vessels to ONGC. Tenders for seven offshore supply vessels were issued in February last year and for five vessels in April.

Ril rpl merger

Reliance Industries, India's largest listed firm with a market value of $40.7 billion, said in a statement its board would meet on March 2 "to consider and recommend the amalgamation of Reliance Petroleum Ltd with the company."

Reliance Industries separately said it would buy Chevron Corp's 5 percent stake in Reliance Petroleum, valued at $344 million as of the close of trade on Friday.

Reliance Petroleum, in which Chevron had an option to raise its holding to 29 percent by mid-2009 or completely exit, said its board would also meet on Monday to consider and recommend the amalgamation.

Both companies' statements were similarly brief and contained no further detail.

Analysts had expected the amalgamation to signal the exit of Chevron, which would have been left with a small holding in Reliance Industries after its stake was converted.

"Chevron has gone slow with its investment in various refinery projects. The market was concerned that this (raising stake) would not come through given the global meltdown and price of crude and their overall strategy," said Sharmila Joshi, vice president sales at brokerage firm Systematix.

RPL last 6 -months average worked out to be 109.4
RIL last 6-months average worked out to be 1366.

1366/109.4=12.48

According to my calculations 12or13 shares of RPL will fetch ONE
share of RIL combined entity.
