woh chod....main tumhara pura salary donate karneku nahi kahathaa....bikari banneke liye...agar sachhi mann se ( by not forcing) ek needi ko sirf rs.10 deke dekh kitna maza aata hain... tumhari kamai se das rs. daan karnese koi bhi bikari banta hain? yaar weekend maza leneke liye kitna karcha karte ho?

Arrey, yaar, one of the richest doesn't automatically mean one of the kindest. That Laxmimittal, for example, is same as ambanis.
Money has nothing to do with who you actually are. Some of the richest people around are pimps, drug dealers and mafia guys. So expecting ambanis to be charitables as bill gates is fantasy. They don't have those kind of genes nor they were brought up in that sort of atmosphere. Yo know, there is old saying: You can take a man out of the gutter, but not the gutter out of a man.

You might remember the Hindi proverb "Neki kar, dariya me daal".. don't show off the good things that you do. The world will perhaps never know the extent of charity really done by the individuals. Only the Hindus have so many festivals which entail being charitable to various things.. not only people. There are days when you feed the crows, fish, cows and what not. The muslims have a defined minimum limit of "zakat" that is to be given as charity. It's a duty, not something to be displayed in newspapers.

As for the "loud" charity, I am always doubtful of its intentions.

How many are putting water only ?? And it's a matter of individual perspective. I think that people, by putting food for birds, are encouraging public nuisance by the birds. It's ok to do it in some designated areas, but in normal residential areas ?? I won't agree.

Prerna dena is the same argument that is used for advertisement. It has more to do with copycat actions and "better than the Joneses" syndrome. There's no stopping it once it starts. And later on, the cause becomes secondary, the advertisement and the individuals become primary. Anyway, that's a different topic altogether.

To each his own. Sab log apne hisaab se bhagwan ke raaste par chalte hain, kuch batate hai, kuch nahi.
