Understanding Volume & Open Interest

can any one help me out with where can i get nifty spot volumes??????i would be very much thankful for the information.....

There is no volume for nifty spot.
Nifty futures have volumes.

at 8 jan 2011 , 15 jan ,22 jan mcx end of day data,

the Volume is less in number and open interest is much much more than volume, how is this possible ?
