How about keeping the Thanks Button as well as adding another called READ.

READ will not affect rankings .. Thanks will.

I second your opinion.MOD can introduce another button READ with THANKS in altogether in new location ,may be LOWER LEFT of message box.

There is a limit of 25 thanks per day. I have noticed that members thank other members for no particular reason at all. The idea is to give thanks when someone helps solve a problem, answers your question, etc, etc.

Please do not use the thanks button to acknowledge that you have read a post. I will look into a mod for that. Till then I request you all to restrict your thanks to really THANK a member.

Request Mods to give a bit of freedom wrt no of smileys in a post ...

Mainly bcoz of quoted posts .. half the no of smileys are used up .. and only make do 50% available for use ...

OR

Not to count smileys in quoted posts ... then the 4 is ok ...

This has been raised to 10 now.

Just some ideas from outside. This then could be the yearly "Best Of Traderji" every year in the future. Hope it doe's not sound to crazy.
