Hi,

I plan to change from icici Direct to a discount broker and after some net search I came across your name.
I mainly trade in options and the rate of 20/trade looks good. My question is regarding stamp duty. Say I buy a single lot of 50, how much stamp duty am I expected to pay?

Thanks.
Stamp duty on option tradign is actually negligible..

Stamp again depends on where you are based, for example in Maharashtra it is Rs 200/crore on premium turnover.. So if you buy 1 lot at Rs 50, that is Rs 2500 turnover of premium..

200/crore, Rs 2/lk, Rs0.02 for 1k, around Rs 0.05 for buying 1 lot of option at Rs 50..

By speed, do you mean speed of ticks on our screen, or speed of execution required by algo traders?

And, are Zerodha Nest traders better located than the current servers of NSE NOW servers?

Sorry for such a layman question.
Firstly it is not a layman question.. ;)..

Speed of ticks on screen as well as execution for both normal retail and algo traders.

Zerodha servers are not better located, but it is presently on similar setups as NOW unlike earlier where NOW Servers had an advantage of being inside NSE building itself.

What will be an advantage at Zerodha in a few days is that we will have a 100% backup disaster management site in case of any unforeseen circumstances which NOW and most brokers don't have..

I usually trade using various price points .... For ex I buy 10 lots of nifty at different price points in baskets of 2 so that the average comes down , so is the case while selling.....
For buying 10 lots I will have 5 executed trades and 5 on the selling side. Will I be charged 20 per executed trade I.e. 20x10 or just 20x 1
so 5 executed orders would mean 5 x Rs 20 ...

.... Good on intra day what is t+o
Exchange gives 2 options to a broker, settle with them on T+0 or T+1.. T+0 would mean that any dues from Zerodha and its clients have to be given to the exchange on the same day..

Exchange in turn gives a margin benefit for brokers who settle with them on T+0,, so if you check Nifty margin requirement with us it is around 24-25k whereas it might be around 31 to 33k for others..

Ok great, so how can one get NOW user id and password ??
Can it be done by just sending a simple mail to u or i need to do something else??
U would have to request for migrating ur id from ZT to NOW, and you can also mention the reason you need to and send it out to [email protected].. We would send u back a new set of passwords..

I'd say switch only if you really need to because there are a lot of small features on ZT which will not be on NOW and ZT is definitely more reliable..

Ok , can u pls throw some light on those small features, i don't know all of them besides one where we can convert T+1 position of futures in nest which is not possible in now. That is why i was asking u about the margins of now. Also i have read on traderji only that now refresh time and order execution is far better than nest but u explained its not the same as before as the servers of now are not on the same location.
Is there any other feature which is in ZT which scores over now ?
