Amsin,

Check this blog: http://www.zerodha.com/z-connect/blog/view/stop-loss-orders-limit-market

This has nothing to do with a bug on the platform, stop loss orders with limit price aren't guaranteed an execution, especially more if the contracts are not very liquid like cardamom.

If you are not seeing an option for SL-M, send an email to [email protected] and they will enable immediately. Also when you are placing a SL order, in limit price if you mention a 0 it automatically becomes a SL-M order..

What Sl-M does is that when your trigger is hit, the other to buy/sell is sent as a market order guaranteeing u execution..
Thanks Zerodha for the clarification. I have emailed to the given id.

Code:
Also when you are placing a SL order, in limit price if you mention a 0 it automatically becomes a SL-M order
....This will get triggered and gets executed as market order @prevailing best match right? So what is the point in selecting order type as "SL" and placing the order with "0" as limit price. It doesn't fulfill the concept of SL orders. Please advise.

@zerodha, what is the update on this issue??
@ zerodha,

why is volume different in nest plus data table (backfill through utility) and in Mkt watch in commodities. It is a strange fact that MCX volumes are lots in the market watch, but weights in the backfill data. Since the CrudeOil lot size is 100, the market watch volumes will be 1/100 of the backfill volumes. But ODIN does not have this problem. So please communicate with omnesys and solve this problem asap
for example look at this

On most platforms, if you place a limit order with price as 0, it will be a market order. You can try tomorrow :)

If you are placing a limit SL order with a trigger and limit price as 0, it will be as good as SL-M, so as soon as your trigger is hit a market order is sent..
