Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

On one hand Zerodha has a Trading Infrastructure which is NOT stable as can be seen from previous responses.

However, they are looking to expand to APAC region .. for bigger money ..hehehe

Zerodha's AI will tell you how to invest
Zerodha will launch a thematic investing product platform and a separate venture through its in house incubator Rainmatter

Ninja Trader is just like Amibroker which gives you the charting facilities and trading facilities as well. Only thing is that most of the brokerage houses do not have any integration with any charting/ algo products claiming high cost with the result being that most trading would be loss making for the retail trader.

Trading without the capability of a computer puts your money at risk :)

Raj seeing your dig on us for that AI thing just now :)

We definitely aren't competing with NT or any such platforms on AI piece. The article has been misquoted. And yes, we are hoping to have a Kite plugin for amibroker/NT soon.

One of the startups with whom we are working in our incubator http://rainmatter.com/ is building a savings app (nothing to do with direct equity trading). The savings app is trying to use AI to better predict habits. Nothing to do with Zerodha.

Btw, I don't know how many of you have tried out https://www.smallcase.com/

It is a really cool way of investing in the markets. Instead of buying/selling stocks, you can buy/sell ideas/smallcases. Check it out. Smallcase tech, the people who have built it will be announcing it officially soon. You can use your zerodha account to login and get started. This platform uses Kite connect for all executions (https://kite.trade/)

Saw Smallcase,
From the first look all I could able to understand is that it is an online fund manager who will help you to figure out the general macro trend (albit with defined focus area)

And give you right to choose and invest in that trend, instead of the fund manager himself.

Is there any trigger based invest approach is available? For example execute my order only when GST is passed Or RBI cut interest rate by 25 bps etc.

I am pretty well versed with computers and tech related to it, I am new to trading but working very hard to make it a success venture.

Eventually I will get into automated trading, but not till I achieve consistency in my manual trading.

I also know basic stuff about ami, fchart NT MT etc. But not getting into these as I feel they are not worth the cost associated.

Basically these data/feed provider industry is at a stage where Trading industry was before the arrival of discount brokers.
Till some quality and reliable discount data feed provider comes into the scene and ecosystem around it develops, these will remain a niche product and will fail to attract sizable traction.

Coming back to my question. What trick do you have up into your sleeve to use NT without a payed datafeed?

Dear ID4trade,

No tricks with me so far, It seems datafeed is mandatory for any 3rd party program, even though brokers are allowed to provide the datafeed to their clients for trading. Looks like brokers are selling piece by piece.. so datafeed separate, broker interface separate, strategy plugins connectivity separate, API enabling separate .. etc etc.

That keeps the broker in good business while the retail trader is just trying his luck to beat HFT's and other bigwigs in the market. .. best of luck..

Thanks Zerodha for seeing my post :) and for taking up the suggestion positively...

Yes, Smallcase is a good idea but difficult to trade it in India. When even automated trading is nowhere in sight, Small case seems a different world.

As many traders in India use Amibroker (not NT), the faster your plugin is released, the longer you can stay in business. Brokers like RSKV, Tradejini, Trade Smart Online, SAS Online etcetc are not far behind, it all depends on who is first with seamless Autotrading functionality.

Automated trading will keep clients in business as well as the broker :thumb:
