Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

We are working with the tech guys on this, it is not possible presently to control the number of scrips on basket. We suddenly had a bunch of guys placing baskets with hundreds of orders for 1 share etc, just crowding up the servers the first thing in the morning and interfering the performance for everyone else.

Will keep you all posted once this is through..

Have you made the basket order value based? Will it now work with a certain preset minimum value of order?

Sachin/Zerodha,

1. What is the use of getting dealer terminal (outside of automation)?

2. As i am not interested in i3 platform, can i get dealer terminal for NSE NOW?..If yes, what is the difference between NSE now client and Dealer terminal? Any cost factor involved?

3. You mentioned about ZT getting the same execution speed as NSE NOW?..is it true? I m probably one of your few customers still using NOW as i really like the execution speed. Not sure if i have to really move to ZT...any pointers would help?

4. I understand that there is an individual order limit of 200(=10000 qty) lots in Nifty future..Does having a NSE NOW dealer terminal take this limit off? If not, how does someone enter an order for 14000 qty? (maybe one 9000 qty order and one 5000 qty order..am i assuming it right)

Would really appreciate if you could take some time out to answer these questions.
automation and ability to place orders for multiple accounts are the advantages. We allow multiple accounts which are immediate family..

i3 is execution based algo and would not be possible on NOW. The cost of running a dealer terminal would be around Rs 500/month for NSE and NFO and i3 will probably cost around 3k/month.

NOW servers have moved out of NSE and hence don't have any speed advantage now. Our the next few weeks, I'd probably have a vested interest in saying this, but we should be the fastest terminal out there.

There are 2 things which we are doing:
1. Exchange connectivity of 140 orders/second, industry average is around 40 to 50 orders per second.
2. 100% disaster management backup, so our servers would be running at 50% load from 2 of the best data centers in the country.
This hardware upgrade will hopefully feel like your car is on NOS. :)

The 200 lot limit is from the exchange and dealer terminal won't help it take off. With an i3, an order slicking can divide 300 lots into 100 pieces and send to the exchange.. But the other way out is like you said place 2 order one for 9000 and another for 5000 if you want to execute 14000 nifty

Thanks for the reply. Got my doubts cleared.

1. So, are you saying that Zerodha platform would be faster than NOW in execution? When is this going to be in effect from?

2. As of now, both i3 and ZT sits on the same server? if yes, execution-wise -- there is no difference right?

The speed today already matches NOW or is actually better. The new initiative should make it much better.

i3 is not a platform, i3 is just an order execution engine on ZT itself.

@Zerodha:

I have faced this issue for the 3rd year in a row:

ILFS AMC charge. I understand that you guys pay the DP Transaction charges and we need to pay AMC charge only.

However, the bill generated by ILFS includes the entire amount and is confusing.

At times, we end up overpaying.

Is it too much to ask that you coordinate with ILFS and streamline this billing process?

I meant left click + hold click button.
ie dont release the button. This freezes candle updates and you can move around your cursor while still holding the button down. Its a workaround.

Btw, after market hours, you will not see any flicker anyway.

@Zerodha - can you please try to report this problem to NEST?
Tooltip for live chart is shown only for a small time. It disappers when last candle updates. Very hard to read anything from it.
this flickering issue was reported by me here multiple times and Zerodha said they have already communicated to the NEST team. No update on that though.

Good to see other people reporting it I was wondering how come others are trading with this limitation.

Just email "Please inform me the dues pending to ILFS w.r.t. DEMAT AMC only" to ILFS billing department with your demat a/c no. before payment. They will give you it in details.
